Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. My first role was in the movie "The Mask" with Jim Carrey in 1994. I danced like crazy in this movie. Do you know which Cameron I am referring to?

Answer: Cameron Diaz

Cameron Diaz starred with the "smoking..." star in this 1994 movie. People obviously liked her, because she went on to star in many movies after this one. She played one of the three Angels in the remake, "Charlie's Angels" and she was the voice of Princess Fiona in the movie "Shrek" with Mike Myers.
2. You've heard of "keeping up with the Joneses before?" Can you try to keep up with the Monkees here? Can you name one of the "hey hey" boys?

Answer: Davy Jones

Davy Jones played himself in "The Brady Bunch" back in season three of the television series. Marsha really wanted to get the groovy and cool Davy Jones to sing for her school dance. Davy, not wanting to disappoint his number one fan sang the song "Girl".
Davy again visited Marsha in the movie "The Brady Bunch Movie" in 1995. I admit it, I was just as crazy as all the teachers were when they saw him. My teen heart throb!
3. Which Lee started out with the group Van Halen?

Answer: David Lee Roth

David Lee Roth formed a band with the Van Halen brothers. David was the lead singer for the band and had the number one song "Jump"! David ventured out on his own, hoping to hit stardom in the single status, but he couldn't recreate what he had with Van Halen. David did sing the song "California Girls" for the movie "Down and Out in Beverly Hills" though.
4. Which Cain/Caine soared through the skies as Superman?

Answer: Dean Cain

Being a Michigander, I had to bring up Dean Cain. Dean was born in the city of Mt. Clemens, Michigan back in 1966. Dean first career goal was to play football with the pros. He signed up to play with the Buffalo Bills in New York, but an injury made him change his career.

It's sort of uncanny, this "Superman" star couldn't play football, but he could play one of the most powerful men ever.
5. This Martin was known for the words, "Everybody loves somebody sometime." Do you know which Martin this is?

Answer: Dean Martin

Dean Martin was an icon in my time. He'd light up a cigarette and stand there with a glass of booze. He was the tops! He teamed up with Jerry Lewis for the Martin/Lewis films. Dean was also one of the members of the "Rat Pack" along with Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., and others. I remember years ago watching the "Celebrity Roasts" put on by Dean as the host. Those were the good ole days. Celebrities would really knock each other down, make jokes but everything was in such good fun, it didn't matter. We all laughed and had fun. Those were the days. Thanks Dean... in the words of Dean Martin "Everybody loves somebody sometime..."
6. This Charlie has a friend that carries around his blanket. He gets cheap advice from a girl. He has a 'pig' for friend. His friend plays the piano like Beethoven. Do you know which Charlie I am referring to?

Answer: Charlie Brown

Charlie Brown and the "Peanut gang" were created by Charles Schulz. The first comic strip appeared in 1950 in only seven newspapers. Charles officially retired in 1999, calling an ending to the beloved comic strip, just shy of the 50th anniversary. The "Peanuts" were one of the most famous comic strips of our time.
How many times do you think Lucy pulled the football out from Charlie Brown over the years?
7. This Roy has been in a couple of movies over the years. He played himself in the movie "Ocean's Eleven" with George Clooney. He also appeared in "Vegas Vacation" with Chevy Chase. Can you guess which "magical" Roy this might be?

Answer: Roy Horn

Roy Horn was born in Germany in 1944. Siegfried and Roy are common names in Las Vegas area. They have entertained visitors in the Silver City for over 25 years. I remember watching them at the Frontier Casino back in the early 90's. The team performed at the Mirage Casino in the late 90's.

In 2003, during a show, Roy was attacked by one of his white tigers on stage. Roy has since been in and out of hospitals. We wish you a magical recovery Roy. We miss your essence of your magic!
8. This writer has dazzled people for over 25 years. From the adventures of "Captain EO" to the wars up in the stars. Do you know which George I'm referring to?

Answer: George Lucas

George Lucas was born in California in 1944. Things just seemed to fall into place for George early in his career. He wrote and directed the movie, "American Graffiti" that starred Ron Howard. George was nominated for Best Director and Best Writer. George didn't win either award, but he was on his way to stardom, well "Star Wars" anyhow. George was also nominated for Best Director and Best Writer for the original "Star Wars" movie. George didn't win that award either, but he did win the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award in 1992 for his achievements.
9. Hi, I've seen "Niagara". I've stopped at the "Bus Stop". I tried to learn "How to Marry a Millionaire" also. Do you know which Marilyn I am?

Answer: Marilyn Monroe

What a voice she had. She had it all, or so we thought she did. One of my favorite movies with Marilyn was "How to Marry a Millionaire" with Lauren Bacall. Three babes trying to find Mr. Wealthy and make him Mr. Right too. Marilyn had so many problems that we didn't realize, until it was too late. We lost the beautiful Goddess back in 1962 due to an overdose. What do you remember most from this starlet? Was it the breathless voice, the platinum blonde hair or the "Happy Birthday Mr. President" song?
10. This celebrity started his movie career as a Judge for a high school band competition in "Back to the Future". Do you know which Lewis this is?

Answer: Huey Lewis

Huey Lewis was one of the judges that told Marty McFly that he was just "too loud." Huey was born in New York in 1955. The song, "Power of Love", was written by and performed by Lewis. The song was also up for an Oscar for the movie, but failed to win. Huey Lewis wrote and performed the song "Back in Time" for the movie too.
Thanks for playing, hope you had fun!
