Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who was the first person to win a title at "Summerslam"?

Answer: Ultimate Warrior

This happened at the 1989 version of "Summerslam". There were some title matches at "Summerslam" before but this was the first ever title change. The Ultimate Warrior and Rick Rude battled it out for the Intercontinental Title. Warrior was down and looked to be out. Roddy Piper came to the ring and distracted Rude. This caused the Warrior to win the match.
2. Which "Summerslam" did the Undertaker first appear at?

Answer: Summerslam 1992

He made his debut with the company at the 1990 "Survivor Series". So he obviously did not appear at the 1989 and 1990 editions. He was with the company for the 1991 edition but did NOT appear. He wrestled the following year against Kamala.
3. Hulk Hogan wrestled in tag team matches for the first two "Summerslams". Who did he wrestle in his first singles match at the 1990 "Summerslam"?

Answer: Earthquake

Hulk Hogan had The Big Boss Man in his corner and Earthquake had Dino Bravo. Tugboat was supposed to be in Hogan's corner but got injured by Earthquake. The match ended when Hogan bodyslammed Earthquake on a table and won after a count out.
4. Who did Kurt Angle wrestle at the 2003 "Summerslam"?

Answer: Brock Lesnar

This was a rematch from "Wrestlemania". Another interesting note is that in 2004 Kurt wrestled Eddie Guerrero at "Wrestlemania" as well. The 2004 "Summerlslam" had them wrestling as well. All matches were good at "Wrestlemania" but since they were so good, they had to have another match for both of them.
5. If you just count up until the 2004 "Summerslam", how many times did Hulk Hogan lose at "Summerslam"?

Answer: 0

He only appeared at the first four "Summerslam's" and won at all of them. He is normally used as a "Wrestlemania" attraction and not a "Summerslam".
6. Who won the main event at the 2004 "Summerslam"?

Answer: Randy Orton

When Brock Lesnar won the Heavyweight Title at the nineteenth "Wrestlemania", he became the youngest champion ever a that time. Randy Orton stole that record from him when he defeated Chris Benoit.
7. What year of "Summerslam" was the first International "Summerslam"?

Answer: 1992

This event was held at Wembley Stadium. It was actually taped the night before it aired due to timing restrictions. There were two main events that night. The first match was Macho Man and Ultimate Warrior. Macho Man retained the title after an interference from Ric Flair.

The second main event was Bret hart and British Bulldog. This was Bulldog's hometown of London and he walked out of that event as the new Intercontinental Champion. There was over 80,000 people in attendance to see their own Bulldog become victorious.
8. Which was the first "Summerslam" that the Undertaker came in as a champion?

Answer: 1997

He went in as the Heavyweight Champion only to lose the belt to Bret Hart. Shawn Michaels accidentally hit Undertaker with a chair knocking him out and allowing Bret to steal the title.
9. Which match was the first "Summerslam" match ever?

Answer: British Bulldogs and The Rougeaus

This match ended in a twenty minute draw. It was the second to the longest match on the card. The main event went well over twenty minutes. That match was Hulk Hogan and Macho Man taking on Andre the Giant and Ted Dibiase. Jesse Ventura was the special referee.
10. How many times did Andre the Giant appear or wrestle at "Summerslam"?

Answer: 3

He wrestled in the main event at the first "Summerslam". The followng year he teamed with The Twin Towers to take on Demolition and Jim Duggan. He did NOT appear at the 1990 edition. He accompanied the Bushwackers against the Natural Disasters. Unfortunatley he passed away in 1992 and would NOT make any other appearances at "Summerslam".
