Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Wadsworth

Answer: Mr. Boddy

Tim Curry portrayed Wadsworth the Butler (for the most part) in the 1985 cult classic movie "Clue". He was employed at Hill House by Mr. Boddy (Lee Ving), whose murder sets the plot of the movie into action. Wadsworth said he called the others (Miss Scarlet, Colonel Mustard, etc.) together since Mr. Boddy had been blackmailing all of them.

They could confront Mr. Boddy as a group before turning him in to the police. In one of the alternate endings, it is revealed that the character who had been calling himself Wadsworth was actually Mr. Boddy and the man he said was Mr. Boddy was his butler.
2. Carson

Answer: The Crawley Family

Actor Jim Carter portrayed Charles Carson, butler to the Robert Crawley, Earl of Grantham on the television series "Downton Abbey" (2010-2015). Mr. Carson has spent decades in service of the Crawley family and supervises a large staff inside the family home.

Although he is supportive of the Crawley family, he seems particularly close to Lady Mary, the eldest daughter, and Mrs. Hughes the head housekeeper, whom he eventually marries.
3. Jeeves

Answer: Bertie Wooster

The character of Reginald Jeeves was created in 1915 by P. G. Wodehouse and appeared in numerous short stories and novels. While Jeeves was primarily employed by Bertie Wooster as a valet, his duties did extend to being a butler on occasion. Arthur Treacher appeared as Jeeves in two movies in the 1930s.

The television show "Jeeves and Wooster" (1990-1993) starred Stephen Fry as Jeeves and Hugh Laurie as his employer. Andrew Lloyd Webber composed the music for an unsuccessful 1975 musical "Jeeves" which would be rewritten in 2001 as "By Jeeves".
4. Cadbury

Answer: The Rich Family

Herbert Arthur Runcible Cadbury first appeared in the "Richie Rich" series of cartoons published by Harvey Comics. Although he is a very proper English butler, when needed he can draw on a array of skills and abilities to protect Richie Rich. Stanley Jones voiced Cadbury in the early 1980s "Richie Rich" cartoon. Jonathan Hyde appeared as Cadbury in the 1994 live-action film "Richie Rich".
5. Hudson

Answer: The Bellamy Family

Angus Hudson was the head butler for the Bellamy Family on the television series "Upstairs, Downstairs" (1971-1975). The character, portrayed by Gordon Jackson, appeared in 60 of the 68 episodes of the show, more than any other character. Hudson supervised the staff of aristocratic household in the Belgravia section of London.

It is believed that he married the cook, Mrs. Bridges, after the conclusion of the time frame of the series (1902-1930).
6. Alfred

Answer: Bruce Wayne

Alfred Thaddeus Crane Pennyworth has been the butler to Bruce Wayne since the character was created in 1943, first appearing in Batman #16. Alfred has appeared in numerous versions of the Batman story from William Austin in the 1943 "Batman" serial to Alan Napier in the "Batman" live-action television show (1966-1968) to Efrem Zimbalist, Jr., in "Batman: The Animated Series" (1992-1995). Alfred also displays many skills beyond that of his official job title.

Many later versions of Alfred hint at specialized military training.
7. Mr. Belvedere

Answer: The Owens Family

Mr. Belvedere is best known from his self-titled ABC television series (1985-1990) where he was played by Christopher Hewitt. The series highlighted Mr. Lynn Belvedere's relationship with the Pittsburgh-area Owens family, particularly younger son Wesley.

The character first appeared in Gwen Paterson's 1947 novel "Belvedere". The novel was adapted into the movie "Sitting Pretty" (1948) which starred Clifton Webb. Webb later played the character in two sequels, "Mr. Belvedere Goes to College" (1949) and "Mr. Belvedere Rings the Bell" (1951).
8. Riff-Raff

Answer: Dr. Frank-N-Furter

The character of Riff-Raff was created by Richard O'Brien who wrote the book, music, and lyrics for cult classic musical "The Rocky Horror Show" (1973). Richard O'Brien played Riff-Raff in both the stage musical and the "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" (1975).

In both versions Riff-Raff serves as butler and handyman for the bizarre Dr. Frank-N-Furter (Tim Curry) in his experiments although he turns on the doctor by the end. Riff-Raff can be heard in several of the songs including "Time Warp".
9. Geoffrey

Answer: The Banks Family

Joseph Marcell portrayed Geoffrey Butler (yes, that's the character's name) in the NBC television show "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" (1990-1996). He is very much the proper British butler with a strong dose of sarcasm included. Geoffrey is the first character seen onscreen in the pilot episode of "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air". Sometimes he is not fully appreciated by the Banks family (such as his low salary) but he is also made the godfather to the youngest child in the family.
10. Mr. French

Answer: Bill Davis

Mr. Giles French was the butler and "gentleman's gentleman" to wealthy engineer Bill Davis and later also his nieces Cissy and Buffy, and nephew Jody on the CBS television show "Family Affair" (1966-1971). The series focuses on how assuming guardianship for the children changes the lives of Bill Davis and Mr. French.

A less successful revival of "Family Affair" aired on the CW in the 2002-2003 season Tim Curry portraying Mr. French. There were various merchandise tie-ins with the original show including a short comic book series.
