The barman of the Leaky Cauldron is Tom. The Three Broomsticks and The Hog's Head are bars in Hogsmeade and Madam Puddifoot's is a teashop, also in Hogsmeade.

2. So, now that we're in Diagon Alley, the first thing we need to do is go to Gringotts Wizarding Bank. We can't go shopping without money! We all know that goblins work there. What colour uniforms do the goblin guards wear?

Answer: Scarlet and gold

Goblins work at Gringotts. Gringotts is a white marble building. It towers over all the other shops in Diagon Alley. Wizards store their money in vaults. Each family has its own vault. The vaults are underground. You get to your vault by riding in a cart.

The carts are one speed only. You keep money and valuable items in your vault. The money is measured in Galleons, Sickles and Knuts. There have been two break-ins at Gringotts. The first one was by Quirinus Quirrell. He was trying to get the Philosopher's Stone.

The second one was by Harry, Ron, Hermione and Griphook. They were breaking in to the Lestrange's vault to get Hufflepuff's Cup.

3. Next, we need to buy a wand. Where would I go to buy one?

Answer: Ollivander's

On the top of the shop there is a sign that says: Makers of Fine Wands since 382 B.C. At Ollivander's you can wave all the wands to see which one is right for you. Ollivander says that the wand chooses the wizard. Harry Potter's wand is made of holly, has a phoenix tail feather and is eleven inches long. Ollivander owns the shop.

He is a man with silver hair and he remembers every wand he has ever sold.

4. Now we need to buy school robes for going to Hogwarts. There are two robe shops here. One is Madam Malkin's Robes For All Occasions. What is the other?

Answer: Twilfit and Tatting's

Madam Malkin's Robes For All Occasions sells school robes as well as other robes. Harry Potter gets his robes there. Madam Malkin works in the shop. We first hear of Twilfit and Tatting's in "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince". Narcissa and Draco Malfoy are buying robes at Madam Malkin's when Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger walk in. Narcissa says that if they let scum in like that they'll buy their robes at Twilfit and Tatting's.

5. Now we need to go to Flourish and Blotts. What will we buy there?

Answer: Books

Flourish and Blotts sells all kinds of books, including school books. In "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" Gilderoy Lockhart went to the store to sign copies of his book "Magical Me". In "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" the manager said that they bought two hundred copies of invisible books and never found them.

They also send books through owl. We learned this in "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince".

6. Now we need some potion ingredients. Where do we buy potion ingredients?

Answer: The Apothecary

You buy potion ingredients in the Apothecary. You can buy all kinds of herbs, powdered stuff and slimy things. Everything you need for mixing up potions. The Apothecary smells of bad eggs and rotten cabbage. It is called Slug & Jiggers Apothecary in the films.

7. It says on the list that you're allowed to bring a cat, an owl or a toad to Hogwarts. I've chosen an owl. Where will I buy an owl?

Answer: Eeylops Owl Emporium

You buy owls at Eeylops Owl Emporium. Hagrid buys Hedwig there for Harry on his eleventh birthday. You can buy tawny, screech, barn, brown and snowy owls here, according to the sign. The other pet shop in Diagon Alley is Magical Menagerie. You can buy all sorts of animals there. Hermione got Crookshanks there and Ron bought Rat Tonic there for Scabbers.

8. Wow! You've just passed a shop that is very lit up. There's fireworks and sparkly lights everywhere! The address is 93 Diagon Alley. You just have to go in! What is the name of this shop?

Answer: Weasley's Wizard Wheezes

Weasley's Wizard Wheezes was set up by Fred and George Weasley. It is located on 93 Diagon Alley. It has a very colourful and eye catching window display. They sell Patented Daydreams, Edible Dark Marks, Love Potions, trick wands, Wildfire Whiz Bangs, Extendable Ears, muggle magic tricks and Decoy Detonators. That's only a very small selection.

They also sell Skiving Snackboxes, which contain sweets that make people sick. They have a whole section of girls' tricks like love potions and pimple remover.

They send stock through owl as well. Students from Hogwarts order stuff from there in "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince".

9. It's nearly time to go home. Let's stop in for an ice cream before going. Where will we go to get ice cream?

Answer: Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour

Harry goes to Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour in "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban". Florean used to give him free ice cream and help him with his homework.In "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince" Florean's store is deserted. Florean was killed by the Death Eaters but we don't know why.

10. Now we're leaving. Just as we're walking into The Leaky Cauldron we see a street. It is very dark and looks dangerous. What is the name of the street?

Answer: Knockturn Alley

Knockturn Alley is a street leading off Diagon Alley. It is a place for dark witches and wizards. In "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" Harry is using the Floo Network and goes one grate too far. He ends up in Knockturn Alley. Draco and Lucius Malfoy are in Borgin and Burkes selling dark items. Tom Riddle (Voldemort) gets his first job at Borgin and Burkes.
