"Turn" has several meanings. It can be a circular motion, like what a wheel does, or a change of direction, and to take turns means to do something in order. There are also many expressions using "turn", like he "took a turn for the worse", or "his luck turned", or even "I just turned 12!"

There are many kinds of nuts, like cashews, pistachios, peanuts, walnuts, macadamia nuts, and pecans, just to name a few. A nut can also be someone who is a little crazy (my mom calls me a nut all the time). Squirrels are known to eat nuts, their favorite being the acorn.

The runt of the litter is usually the smallest, and tends not to grow as large as the other puppies will ("Clifford the Big Red Dog" being the exception). A litter of puppies can also be called a piddle. Piddle is also puppy pee.

To go to court means you will be put on trial. In court there is a judge, sometimes known as a mediator, and a jury of twelve people. They will decide whether you are guilty or not guilty. A court is also the place where you play basketball or tennis.

Corn, or maize, grows on an ear, which contains the cob. Corn can be eaten on the cob, off the cob, and prepared in many ways. You can use it to make cornbread, cornmeal, and cornflour, popcorn, and you can even cut off the corn from the cob and use the cobs to make corncob jelly!

To slice is to cut, which breaks a larger piece into smaller pieces. Paper cuts are when you accidentally cut the skin with the edge of a piece of paper. Sometimes it bleeds, and sometimes it doesn't. But they certainly can hurt! So be careful...

Talons are those razor-sharp claws on many birds' feet. Many birds have them, especially birds of prey who need them to catch their meal.

The British word for 'ton' is 'tonne', but there is no "E" in NOCTURNAL, so that can't be the answer! There are many different units that are called "tons", but for Americans, the most common is a very heavy weight of 2,000 pounds. An elephant can weigh 7 tons! That is about the weight of 80 people!

"Car" is the term we most often use for an automotive vehicle. Cars are what we use to go places. They have four wheels (usually), and drive on the road. They can go over 100 miles an hour, although usually there are speed limits so you can't go that fast.

Answer: Carton

At school, you usually can get a carton of milk or orange juice to drink. The dictionary describes a carton as a cardboard box.

And for a clever play on words, a 'car' can also weigh a 'ton'. ;-)
