Slytherin's colors are green and silver. At Quidditch matches students dress up in their house colors to show spirit for their team. Every day in class students brandish their house colors as well. Male students usually wear ties, and the tie usually contains their house colors. Some female students also wear ties, which show their house colors. Also the robes that the students wear around Hogwarts usually have one of their house colors on the trim of the robe.

Ravenclaw's colors are blue and bronze, but in the movies the colors are blue and grey.

The Fat Lady guards the Gryffindor common room entrance, and has done so for many years. Her only known absence was when her portrait was attacked by Azkaban escapee Sirius Black in 1994. When the Fat Lady refused to do her duty, Sir Cadogan and his little gray pony took on the job, much to the annoyance of students. They found his habit of changing the password at least three times a week very irritating. Eventually the Fat Lady was convinced to return to her post.
Ravenclaw's common room is guarded by an eagle door knocker that asks a question, which you have to answer before being admitted.
Slytherin's common room is hidden behind a blank stretch of wall, to which you have to speak the password before being admitted.
The way to get into the Hufflepuff common room is not revealed in the books.

Answer: The Grey Lady

The Grey Lady's name is really Helena Ravenclaw. She is the daughter of Rowena Ravenclaw. Helena stole her mother's diadem because she wished to become smarter than her and went to hide with it in Albania. Her dying mother sent the Bloody Baron, the ghost of Slytherin, to find her. He killed her when she refused to go back with him. Then, realizing what he had done, he killed himself. They both came back to Hogwarts as ghosts. The Grey Lady told Tom Riddle where she hid the diadem and he found it and made it into a Horcrux. The Grey Lady told this story to Harry in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows."

Helga Hufflepuff brought the house elves to Hogwarts to make sure they could work and weren't being abused. House elves are little elves that do housework for fun. They have to obey their master. The only way they can become free is if their master hands them clothes. There are a lot of house elves at Hogwarts. They clean the common rooms, clean the classrooms and prepare the food. Hermione doesn't think this is right so she sets up S.P.E.W. S.P.E.W. stands for Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare. S.P.E.W. works on setting elves free.

When Regulus Black was at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry he was in Slytherin. Regulus is known for being the one who stole one of Lord Voldemort's Horcruxes, and leaving a fake in its place. When Moaning Myrtle was at Hogwarts, as a living person, she was in Ravenclaw. She became a ghost when she was killed by Slytherin's Basilisk. Cho Chang and Luna Lovegood were both in Ravenclaw while Harry Potter was at Hogwarts.
