Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This man here makes his living with drawings and paintings. His super-power is the ability to use his creative mind. What is his profession?

Answer: Artist

An artist can come in many shapes and sizes and is mainly responsible for creating art. This could mean that their talent is painting, making sculptures, or even making music-- a recording artist is another name for a musician who has their own albums. Visual artists can paint on almost anything, whether it be a canvas, a piece of pavement, or even another person.
2. Eww...bugs. This creature's superpower is is incredible strength. It can carry one hundred times its weight! What is it?

Answer: Ant

An ant is an insect that lives in a hill. A very resourceful creature, it works together with other ants to accomplish tasks, collect food, and help the others in its hill. Some ants can fly and some ants can sting. Some, like fire ants, protect themselves with venom.
And unlike your 'Aunt', they're not related to you.
3. This thing here packs a punch; it has the superpower to transform itself into a mighty tree. What is this item?

Answer: Acorn

If an all-powerful acorn is planted into the ground it can grow into a tall oak tree. It works in the same way as an apple seed-- if it makes its way underground in the right conditions, something will germinate. At the same time, acorns are popular as food for woodland creatures-- squirrels, for instance, will pick them up and stow them away.

This is one way an acorn could make its way underground.
4. Sure, this thing has keys, but its real superpower is the ability to squeeze air into noise. What is this instrument called?

Answer: Accordion

Also known as a squeezebox, the accordion is a musical instrument known for being used in polka music and songs by Weird Al Yankovic (re: polka). Sound is made by pressing the keyboard-like keys on the side of the device and squeezing the instrument open and closed. Pressing the keys on the side opens reeds on the inside to create different notes.

Many different styles of music have used the accordion in some way from pop to classical to heavy metal.
5. Even the Earth can be super-powered. What continent, shown to the side there, has the powers of fierce heat and amazing rainforests?

Answer: Africa

Africa is one of the world's several continents; it's south of Europe, but southwest of Asia. It borders the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. Africa is home to Egypt and the pyramids, the Sahara Desert, and the Serengeti. It's also one of the only places in the world where you can find lions, elephants, zebras, and even penguins, all in the same place. Because of its deserts, Africa is one of the hottest continents in the world year-round.
6. This item has the power of super-weight. What is the object depicted?

Answer: Anchor

Anchors are used to halt ships and tether them in place in deep or shallow water. When you don't want the boat/ship to move, you drop the anchor to the seafloor or lakebed. Anchors are usually made of heavy metal to ensure that they can sink and weight themselves down. The points on the end are also curved to grapple onto the ground if need-be.
7. That's not a smoke cloud. What volcanic substance has the power to blacken the sky?

Answer: Ash

Ash is produced by the destruction of rocks and other earthy substances when a volcano erupts. It can also be produced when fire is lit on other substances including wood and paper-- a cigarette, for instance, can produce ash. Too much ash can be dangerous, especially if you're in its path after a volcano has erupted; it's light enough to be carried by the wind.
Ash is also a type of tree and it's also the name of the main character in "Pokemon". Fairly adaptable word, that.
8. Aha! Pointer powers! What word is also the name of the object shown?

Answer: Arrow

An arrow is used to direct someone to something; it points where you are supposed to go. Arrows are also fired from bows, and someone who makes arrows is called a fletcher. You'd be likely to see arrows on road signs or, on your computer keyboard. Most keyboards have an up, down, left, and right arrow to navigate on your screen without a mouse. Speaking of which, the mouse cursor is also a type of arrow. Maybe its power is that arrows seem to be everywhere!
9. This creature has the power to hide in water and crush things in its long mouth. What type of animal is it?

Answer: Alligator

Alligators are reptiles living in North America and China and you can usually find them in swampy regions; they only live in freshwater unlike similar creatures, crocodiles, which live in saltwater for the most part. Alligators usually hide on the surface of the water, blending in until prey is within reach.

At that point, it snaps its large mouth open and shut to eat what it can. It's a frightening creature above and below water due to its speed.
10. What body part is a joint that gives you the power to walk?

Answer: Ankle

The ankle is a joint found in the foot which allows it to move in different directions; it connects to the bones in the lower leg as well as those in the foot with ligaments. The ankle can take a lot of strain, but can get injured if you're not careful. Running awkwardly on an ankle could sprain it, and prolonged injury could fracture it (and that wouldn't be good).

It's like a wrist...but in your foot.
