Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. My favorite color is the one that is often associated with Envy, what is my favorite color?

Answer: green

The GREEN eyed monster is often associated with envy or jealousy. My favorite shade of green is lime; I even painted my bedroom lime green.
2. Everyone has a lucky/favorite number, mine is a prime number. It is higher than the number of original colonies but less than the minimum age requirement to become a U.S. president. Which number is my favorite?

Answer: 23

Prime numbers are only divisible by 1 and itself, and since 44 is divisible by 1, 2, 4, 11, 22, and 44 then it's not a possible answer. There were 13 original colonies, so that takes 11 out, and the minimum age requirement to become a U.S. president is 35, taking out 37 and leaving 23.
3. I love movies and own over 200 of them, but there is one particular movie I favor. It is definitely a chick flick, and stars Rosie O'Donnell, Demi Moore, Melanie Griffith, Rita Wilson, Christina Ricci, Gaby Hoffmann, Thora Birch and Ashleigh Aston Moore as a group of girls who tell the tale of one adventurous summer. Which movie do I consider a must see?

Answer: Now & Then

"Now & Then" is a must movie for all girls too see; young, old and every age in between. Plus it features a young Devon Sawa, *sigh*. "Clueless" is about a group of rich teenagers in the 1990's and stars Alicia Silverstone, Stacey Dash, and Brittany Murphy. "Never Been Kissed" stars Drew Barrymore and Michael Vartan, and is about a plain looking copy editor that goes undercover as a high school student. Sandra Bullock stars in "Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood", a movie about the relationship between a mother and her daughter.
4. Though not in my favorite movie, this talented woman, starring in "Practical Magic", "Demolition Man", and "Love Potion No. 9", is my favorite actress. Who is my favorite actress?

Answer: Sandra Bullock

Sandra, or Sandy to friends, has appeared in over 30 films. According to IMDB.com, Sandra was voted "Most Likely to Brighten up Your Day" by her high school class.
5. My favorite actor is this man, who starred with greats such as Dame Judi Dench, Marlon Brando, and Al Pacino in "Chocolat", "Donnie Brasco" and "The Brave". What is the name of my favorite actor?

Answer: Johnny Depp

Gaining fame with his role as Tom Hanson on the 1980's television show "21 Jump Street", Johnny has appeared in over 30 films maintaining a very steady career for over 20 years. Only getting better with age Johnny was People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive in 2003. Johnny was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1999.
6. With hits like "Water Runs Dry", "Motown Philly", "Pass You By", and "One Sweet Day", is my favorite group of musicians "98 Degrees"?

Answer: No

My favorite group that is actually behind these hits is Boyz II Men. Originally from Philadelphia ("Motown Philly"), Boyz II men consists of Michael, Nathan, Sean, and Wayna. More popular in the early 90's the group also had hits with "I'll Make Love to You", "On Bended Knee" (video features Renee Jones (Lexi, Days of Our Lives)), and "It's So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday" (great graduation song). "One Sweet Day", a collaboration between Boyz II Men and Mariah Carey, and was about all the shootings and deaths around the time TuPac and Biggie were killed. 98 Degrees had hits with "I Do", "The Hardest Thing", and "My Everything".
7. My favorite song is this one by Jordan Hill and was featured in the film "Casper" during the scene when Casper dances with Kat. Which tune do I love listening to?

Answer: Remember Me This Way

Though all of these songs have been in movies, only "Remember Me This Way" was in "Casper". "Count on Me" is by Whitney Houston and was in the film "Waiting to Exhale", "I Will" was in the film "Space Jam" and is performed by Monica, and Céline Dion sang "Because You Loved Me" for the film "Up Close and Personal".
8. My favorite painting "Starry Night" is by Rembrandt.

Answer: False

Vincent Van Gogh is the true painter of "Starry Night". The painting has inspired many poems and songs, including "Vincent" by Don McLean. The song is really moving if you listen to it while looking at the painting. Rembrandt did paintings such as "The Night Watch" and "The Anatomy Lecture of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp".
9. My favorite writer is this one of scary books: "Dreamcatcher", "Needful Things", "Four Past Midnight", "The Shining", and "It". My favorite author is Stephen King.

Answer: True

"Four Past Midnight" is a book with four novellas featuring "The Langoliers" and "Secret Window, Secret Garden", both of these novellas along with "Dreamcatcher", "Needful Things", "The Shining", and "It" have been made into movies. "Secret Window, Secret Garden" had the name shortened to just "Secret Window" because there was already a movie called "Secret Garden".

The movie "Secret Window" stars my favorite actor, Johnny Depp.
10. My favorite book is part of the Harry Potter series, by J.K. Rowling. Though I'm a fan of the whole series, my favorite is the fifth book, in which Harry tries to learn occlumency, finds himself having to deal with a power hungry High Inquisitor, and ends with a heart breaking loss. Which book is my favorite?

Answer: The Order of the Phoenix

The Sorcerer's Stone is the 1st book, the Goblet of Fire the 4th, and the Half-Blood Prince is the 6th. Though he tries really hard, Harry never does get the hang of occlumency. He does, however, come across one of Snape's worst memories during a lesson.
11. I'm a big fan of supernatural shows, so it's no surprise that this show about a strong female and her friends battling demons is my favorite. What is the name of the show I'm referring to?

Answer: Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Though "Charmed" features strong females, it's about three sisters fighting demons. And while "Supernatural" is also about fighting demons, it's centered on brothers Sam and Dean. "Tru Calling" is about a medical student working in the morgue, who relives days in order to save someone who wrongfully died the first time around. "Buffy" ran for seven seasons and spawned a spin-off, "Angel", which ran for 5 seasons.
12. My favorite reality series is this seasonal show, only airing for about 3 months in the summer. It features contestants locked in a house competing in 'Head of Household' and 'Veto' challenges, all in hopes that they won't get voted out. What reality show am I talking about?

Answer: Big Brother

The members of the household also compete in food challenges in order to get food for that week; if they don't win the challenge they have to eat Peanut Butter and Jelly for the entire week. I would excel at this part of the game, because I love PB & J. "Big Brother" is also a reality show in other countries like the UK, Australia, and Nigeria.
13. My favorite chip is the "Frito Lay" brand that has ridges. Do I enjoy Ruffles?

Answer: Yes

A popular slogan for Ruffles is "R R R Ruffles Have Ridges!". Though my brothers prefer the Sour Cream & Onion flavor, I find there's nothing like the Original flavor. Originally the Frito and Lay companies were separate, but merged together in September of 1961 forming the Frito-Lay, Inc. Today, Frito-Lay has more than fifteen $100 million brands: Lay's®, Fritos®, Cheetos®, Baken-Ets®, Ruffles® Doritos®, Funyuns®, Tostitos®, Baked Lay's®, Wow!®, Sunchips®, Munchies®, Oberto®, Rold Gold®, Grandma's® Cookies and Quaker Chewy Bars®, Quakes® and Fruit & Oatmeal Bars®.
14. Football is my favorite sport, and this former Oakland, California team with black and silver as their colors was my favorite. Which team did I root for?

Answer: Raiders

The Oakland Raiders played in Oakland from 1960 to 1981, ant then again from 1995 to 2019. The Oakland team played in Los Angeles for 13 years (1982-1994) and moved to Las Vegas for the 2020 season. Their first Super Bowl win was against the Minnesota Vikings at Super Bowl XI (11), on January 1, 1977, where they won 32-14.
15. My favorite game is this one where players collect property and try to avoid jail time. What is my favorite game?

Answer: Monopoly

It was 1934 when Charles B. Darrow showed what he called the Monopoly® game to the executives at Parker Brothers. But they rejected the game due to "52 design errors"! Mr. Darrow wasn't daunted though, he, like many other Americans at the time, was unemployed, and the game's exciting promise of fame and fortune inspired him to produce it on his own.

A few fun facts: Monopoly®'s board was originally round, not square, and the total amount of money in a standard Monopoly® game is $15,140. For more fun facts about the game you can go to the following link: http://www.hasbro.com/monopoly/pl/page.funfacts/dn/default.cfm
