US author, Richard Wright (1908-1960), wrote the novel 'Native Son'. This was published in 1940 and is regarded as a 'pioneering novel' which challenged racial attitudes.

This is a beautiful example of Arabian art from when the Moors occupied Spain. It was built in 1195 and was the minaret of a mosque.
