The meaning of the name "Rosalind" originates from Spanish and Latin, translating to "Beautiful/Lovely Rose". The Teutonic translation of the name is "Horse Serpent", while in Old French it means "Little Red Haired One".
2. Which of Shakespeare's plays features a main character named "Rosalind"?

Answer: As You Like It

In this play, Rosalind is the daughter of a banished duke, who is banished herself, and disguises herself as a man to put off a suitor. Much confusion ensues, with a young girl falling in love with Rosalind (dressed as a man), but everyone ends up happily married. "Romeo and Juliet" mentions a minor character (who never actually appears in the play) named Rosaline.
3. "Rosalind" is the name of a moon of which planet?

Answer: Uranus

This moon was discovered in 1986 and is the eighth discovered moon of Uranus. Uranus' other moons are Cordelia, Ophelia, Bianca, Cressida, Desdemona, Juliet, Portia, Belinda and Puck. Rosalind orbits 69 927 km from Uranus and has a diameter of 54 km (in case anyone wanted to know all that!)

Published in 1989, this tells the story of a girl who visits her friend Rosalind in Maine and gets into an adventure when she takes the wrong suitcase home from the airport. The girls think they've stumbled onto a murder plot, but it turns out to be a comical mistake. I actually didn't enjoy the book much, but I bought it because it had my name in the title!

Chinese American actress Rosalind Chao was born 23rd September 1957. She has appeared in the Movies "The Joy Luck Club" and "A Thousand Pieces of Gold". More recently she played parts in "The West Wing" and "The OC".

Rosalind Allen plays the part of Dr. Wendy Smith in this television show from the mid 1990s. She has also had minor roles in some lesser known movies throughout the 1980s and 1990s. The UK Terrestrial Cult TV site describes her as a "Cult TV Babe".
10. Which Canadian province has a town by the name of Rosalind?

Answer: Alberta

Rosalind is a small country village found in the central prairies of Alberta, Canada. It has a population of less than 300 but there is a golf course there.
