The Borley rectory has been home to sightings as diverse as phantom coaches, flying objects, mysterious drops of temperatures (as much as 10 degrees), monastic chantings and organ music. Seances by psychics indicate that a young French Nun Marie Lairre left her convent to marry a landed gent and was strangled by him on May 17, 1667 and her body was buried in the cellar of the same building.

5. According to Mexican legend, this woman fell in love with a Nobleman who rejected her because of her Indian blood. For over 400 years, her wails of 'Oh My Children' has haunted New Mexico city. Who is she?

Answer: La Llorona

La Llorona according to most legends was Dona Luisa de Olveros, a Spanish Indian of outstanding beauty who fell in love with a nobleman Nuno de Montesclaros. When she came to know that he was marrying a Spanish noblewoman, she went crazy and killed her children.

She was later convicted of sorcery and publicly hanged in Mexico city. But every night, at the stroke of midnight, she wails for the children she killed.
6. This ghost wrote Telka, Hope Trueblood, The Sorry Tale (among many others) through a medium by the name of Mrs Curran.

Answer: Poltergeist

From the German words Polter (noise or racket) and Geist (spirit) they are reputed to send objects flying across rooms, shatter pottery and make noises among other bizarre activity

Answer: Myrtles Plantation

Woodruffe apparently used Chloe sexually for quite a while before he dumped her for another slave. Further, he had one of her ears cut off for eavesdropping. Chloe poisoned the birthday cake of the oldest daughter. Whether she did this for vengence, or just to make everybody mildly sick so that she could nurse them and not have to work in the feilds is unclear. Woodruffe didn't have the cake, and he survived, the rest of his family died in a matter of hours
9. Legend has it that if you look into the mirror and say her name thrice in a dark room, her mangled face will appear and try and get you unless you run very fast, or turn on the light. (watch your caps)
