4. The area of which of the following objects can be found by multiplying the length of the two diagonals and dividing the answer by two (i.e. (d1 * d2)/2)?

Answer: A Kite (diamond)

Rectangle = length * breadth. Triangle = (base*height)/2. Trapezium = 1/2 (sum of parallel sides)(height). The area of the kite can be found by taking the sum of areas of the two small triangles within. Since the diagonals of a kite bisect at right angles, the height of each triangle is half of one diagonal. So you get an area of (d1 * d2/2)/2 for each triangle, which is simply (d1*d2)/2.
