Answer: Special Guerilla Unit, SGU

The SGUs were the elite forces in the Royal Lao Army. They conducted reconnaissance of the Ho Chi Minh Trail; ambushing trail traffic; and called in air strikes. Towards the end of the war they were absorbed into regular army units.
