Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was the only card reprinted in 7th Edition to retain its original Alpha wording?

Answer: Stream of Life

Interrupts have been changed to instants, wordings have been changed for clarification and ease of use, and only Stream of Life has been reprinted, unscathed.
2. Which of these Magic artists have never illustrated a Serra Angel, tournament legal or otherwise, that was printed by Wizards (as of the printing of Onslaught)?

Answer: Matthew Wilson

Douglas Schuler painted the much-loved original, Mark Zug did the 7th Edition artwork, and Rebecca Guay (my personal favorite artist - watch out for future questions involving her works) painted the artwork on a giant-sized promotional Serra Angel (plus Serra's Hymn - Urza's Saga - and Serra's Blessing - 4th Edition, Weatherlight). Though Matthew Wilson did paint Serra's herald (Herald of Serra - Urza's Saga) and her advocate (Serra Advocate - 7th Edition), he did not paint her angel.
3. Out of the sixteen Invitationalists at the 2002 Invitational, how many of their proposed cards were of the creature type - Wizard?

Answer: Ten

These wizards were Dying Shadowmage (Jon Finkel), Bob the Dog, Cur Master (Gabriel Nassif), Daydreamer (Eivind Nitter), Goblin Savant (Chris Pikula), Firewalker Shaman (David Price), Tropical Wizard (Carlos Romao), Boui Boui, Snowbringer (Olivier Ruel), Forestfolk (Jens Thoren), Finmage Finisher (Tomi Walamies), and Palace Sage (Gary Wise).
4. How many monogreen cards printed before Invasion are of the creature type - Dragon?

Answer: One

Canopy Dragon was its name. The monogreen Kyscu Drake (Kyscu is an anagram of "sucky", making fun of Red and Green flyers) could search for the red-and-green Viashivan Dragon when sacrificed with Spitting Drake, but it was a Drake. There were also four monogreen Dragonflies.
5. True or false: all of the Slivers printed in Tempest block have flavour text?

Answer: True

As bonus trivia, Muscle Sliver is the only Sliver in Tempest not to contain a proper noun in its flavor text. Metallic Sliver is the only other one in Tempest not to mention the Weatherlight or one of her crew in its flavor text (it does reference Volrath, though).
6. Storyline question: Which two parts of Dominaria were phased out by Teferi before the Invasion (Invasion book)?

Answer: Shiv and Zhalfir

Hurloon was practically destroyed by the Phyrexians, and Multani transplanted part of Yavimaya on the edge of Urborg, but neither were phased out during the invasion. Practical note: thousands of Phyrexians died by overlaying on top of ocean where Shiv and Zhalfir used to be.
7. Which of these does not have the same colours as the other three?

Answer: Palladia-Mors

Palladia-Mors (one of the Elder Dragon Legends from Legends) is white, green, and red, while the other three are white, green, and blue.
8. How many cards in tournament-legal sets (no Portal) printed before 8th Edition have built-in plainswalk?

Answer: 2

Rightious Avengers and Graceful Antelope are the only two cards with built-in plainswalk... this is why, in my opinion, Great Wall is so bad (it's a Legends card that makes creatures with plainswalk blockable as if they didn't have plainswalk). Zodiac Rooster, from Portal: Three Kingdoms also has plainswalk.
9. What is the only uncommon white sorcery in Homelands?

Answer: Leeches

Leeches - 1WW - Sorcery - Target player loses all poison counters. Leeches deals 1 damage to that player for each poison counter removed this way.
Prophecy is a common, Truce is an instant, and Icatian Town is from Fallen Empires.
10. True or false: Pixie Queen has two creature types, both unique to that card?

Answer: False

The Oracle wording changes it to only have one creature type. Pixie Queen is, however the only creature to have the creature type Pixie-Queen.
11. Time to let our proverbial hair down with an Unglued question... Who did the 'very professional' crayon art for "Look At Me, I'm the DCI"?

Answer: Mark Rosewater

He was paid one dollar for it (he requested, and got, a check for it so that he could frame it... he didn't cash it).
12. Which of these cards actually has "Lord" as a creature type?

Answer: Keldon Warlord (Alpha)

Eladamri and Lord Magnus are both Legends, and the Plaguelord is a Carrier.
13. True or false: a Daru encampment is shown on every version of Plains in Onslaught?

Answer: True

For other information pertaining to lands, all but one of the Swamps in Onslaught show the city of Aphetto (the exception being Dan Frasier's), and all of the Islands show a man-made structure or town.
14. If you listed all the cards printed from Alpha to Onslaught (excluding Portal, Starter and Unglued) in alphabetical order, which card comes fifth to last?

Answer: Zuberi, Golden Feather

The last five are Zuberi, Golden Feather, Zuran Enchanter, Zuran Orb, Zuran Spellcaster, and Zur's Weirding. The first five would be Abandon Hope, Abandoned Outpost, Abbey Gargoyles, Abbey Matron, and Abduction.
15. Another Unglued art question: Who did the art for Squirrel Farm (If you don't get this right, I get to put a Squirrel into play...)?

Answer: Ron Spencer

If you didn't get the joke in the question, Squirrel Farm is an enchantment that lets you pay {1}{G} to reveal a card from your hand, covering the artist's name. If target player cannot correctly name the artist, you get to put a 1/1 green Squirrel creature token into play.
Hope you liked the quiz, have fun playing more Magic... preferrably with as many Squirrels in play as possible.
