Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the 2005 edition, how much money do you have to borrow to go to college?

Answer: $100,000

College is becoming increasingly more expensive, as the player must borrow a whopping $100,000 in order to attend in this version of the game. If you answered $40,000: that refers to the older version of the game.
2. Which career from previous versions does no longer exist in the 2005 version?

Answer: Travel agent

The travel agent was removed, and replaced by the computer consultant. Although the teacher was not removed, it is now a "summer job".
3. In the 2005 edition, the text on which salary card is written in yellow?

Answer: $100,000

The $100,000 salary card is the highest in the game, and in the 2005 version the digits on the card are written in yellow. This version also removed the low salary cards from the previous game, like $20,000.
4. Which is NOT a new feature of the 2005 version?

Answer: Life tiles

The life tiles first appeared in the 1992 version of the game, and they are still in use in the 2005 game. New additions to the 2005 version are, among other things, the computer consultant career (replacing the travel agent) and a new process for selling houses (both on a new red space and at the end of the game). Also, more careers have a special property, instead of just the police officer as in the 1992 version.
5. How are the sell prices for houses determined in the 2005 edition?

Answer: By spinning the wheel

The player spins the wheel and the price is decided by the number the wheel lands on. Depending on the price of the house, the player may either gain money, lose money or break even. It is optional to sell your house on the new red space added in the game, although your house must be sold at retirement at the end of the game. This feature is new in the 2005 version.
6. In the 2005 version, how many spaces containing the word "twins" are there on the board?

Answer: Two

One space is marked "Twins!" while the other is marked "Adopt Twins!". The player receives a life tile and two "people" pegs are inserted into the car. Whether the twins are girls, boys or one of each is the player's choice. Both of these spaces are also present in the 1992 version.
7. Which of these was NOT removed in the 2005 edition?

Answer: Stocks

The 2005 version removed the 1992 version's low salary cards (such as $20,000) and the travel agent career card. The life tile values were lowered to increase the fairness of the game. The stocks were kept, although, as with the 1992 version, they have very limited use in the game.
8. How many "option points" are there on the board of the 2005 edition?

Answer: Two

Option points refer to parts of the track where the path splits into two. As with the 1992 version, the path splits twice. The only difference in this version is that there is now a new red space for selling houses in front of the second option point.
9. In the 2005 version, which of these spaces will NOT grant you a life tile?

Answer: Mid-life crisis

The mid-life crisis space requires the player to change jobs (and salaries). All of these spaces were also present in the 1992 version.
10. The 2005 version of the game still includes the four life tiles that are placed at Millionaire Estates at the beginning of the game.

Answer: True

Four life tiles are placed at Millionaire Estates at the beginning of the game and the player with the most cash at the end receives them. After that, players add the total of their life tiles to their cash total and the richest player wins!
