In ancient times, Mount Olympus was commonly referred to as a footstool to the gods and the twelve Olympian gods lived on the mountain. Mount Olympus is the highest mountain in Greece, which means it is the closest mountain to the sky, a fitting place for the gods to live.

Teide is a mountain on the island of Tenerife in Spain's Canary Islands. The indigenous Guanches people believe that the Devil kidnapped Magec, the sun god, and trapped him inside the volcano. Achaman, the supreme god, rescued Magec and trapped the Devil inside.

After drinking it, Odin transformed into an eagle and flew away, although Suttungr also turned into an eagle and gave chase.
