Answer: Meriadoc the Magnificent

Merry, Pippin and Samwise became renowned for their part in 'The Battle of Bywater' and because of this Merry received the name 'Meriadoc the Magnificent'. Shortly afterwards Merry became lord of Brandybuck Hall.
2. How many times did Samwise become Mayor of the Shire?

Answer: 7

Samwise replaced Will Whitfoot when he resigned as mayor. Samwise was elected mayor seven times over. When his seventh term ended in 1476 he was 96 years old.
3. On what date does Frodo become ill under the effects of the Shelob's poison?

Answer: March 13th

Frodo was poisoned on March 13th by Shelob and as a result of that every year on the same date he became ill. This being very similar to the stab wound he received on Weathertop on October 6th of the previous year.
4. Who did Pippin marry?

Answer: Diamond of Long Cleeve

Pippin married Diamond of Long Cleeve in 1427. This is known because in the same year King Elessar made 'The Shire' a free land and no one but hobbits were allowed to enter it.

Samwise had 13 children and this can be seen by looking at the family trees. The thirteen children in age order were:

Before coming to Brandywine Bridge, King Elessar resided in Lake Evendim.

The Westmarch, from the Far Downs to the Tower Hills (Emyn Beraid), was added to the shire as a gift from King Elessar. When it was given, many hobbits removed there and lived for many years.

Answer: Elanor Gamgee

Samwise gave his first child the Red Book just before he took the boat into the undying lands. The book was then passed down in the Fairbairns which were descendants of those who lived in the Tower Hills. It was passed down in the Fairbairn family because Elanor married Elfstan Fairbairn and they bore a child.
9. Where do Merry and Pippin die?

Answer: Minas Tirith

King Elessar invited Merry and Pippin to stay in Gondor where they resided for the last years of their life. They died in Rath Dinen and their tombs were placed alongside King Elessar when he passed away seven years later.
10. According to Shire Reckoning, what year did King Elessar die? (Aragorn became king in 1419)

Answer: 1541

King Elessar died in 1541 on the 1st March. Soon afterwards Legolas built a grey ship in Ithilien and Legolas and Gimli sailed down the river Anduin and into the undying lands. With that, all members of the Fellowship of the Ring had passed from Middle-earth.
