Spencer was upset because he knew there was work to do and Pitt had them sit around for a half hour. Pit said that everyone including the Admiral should leave the ship and save themselves before the hurricane struck. Everyone decided to stay to help out through the storm.

Someone threw a hammer into the rotor blades as Sturgess touched down. Part of the blade was hanging down where it had broken off. Pitt told Sturgess that he must've caried a stowaway. When Sturgess opened the hatch to the cargo area, they waited before going in and investigating. They found a body wrapped in a tarpauline.

Pitt was suspicious that there may have been a stowaway on Sturgess's helicopter who had tossed the hammer into the rotor blades. So, he asked Sturgess to open the cargo hatch. When they entered the cargo hatch, Sturgess pointed to a human like shape in the tarp and stated that he had folded that tarp an hour earlier. Pitt unwrapped it and found Dana Seagram with a nasty blow to the head.

However, she was stil alive, just unconscious.

Prevlov informed Parotkin that within a couple of hours, a Russian submarine would surface and send a distress signal. It would be transmitting under the name of the Laguna Star. It would act as a tramp freighter with an unknown registry. The signal would then stop sending once the Russian sub submerged.

This would cause the American ship, Juneau, to speed up her efforts to save a crew which would not be there.

Parotkin was ordered to destroy the ship if Prevlov's boarding mission failed to get ahold of the Byzanium. Even though Parotkin does not want to do it, Prevlov wants the ship destroyed so no one will get the Byzanium; even the Americans.
