Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which member of the Bonehunters is perpetually drunk?

Answer: Hellian

Hellian is a young sergeant. In one fight where she's being shot at and loses her shield (actually the top of a barrel), she goes for a wine bottle so she can have one last swig before she dies. She survives, though due to her constant drunkenness, she is either very lucky or has some god or ascendant looking out for her.

It may well be the latter--an unknown woman appears to her after this engagement, then vanishes in an instant.
2. How does Phaed die?

Answer: Thrown out a window

Withal throws her out the window in front of Nimander, who reminisces about the event in "Toll the Hounds". Phaed had been about to kill Sandalath. The term for being thrown out a window is defenestration.
3. Beak gives his life to open his warrens and save the Malazans and Tiste. What happens to all those inside his shield?

Answer: Their hair turns white.

A couple of them also take on a golden aspect. As the price of saving everyone, Beak ends up as ashes and scorched bones. At Hood's Gate, Beak reunites with his brother. It looks like, after a tough life, Beak gets a peaceful afterlife.
4. What is revealed about Redmask after his death?

Answer: He was Letherii.

Those who remove his mask think he must be an impersonator, of which there are many, because the face is Letherii, not Awl, which Redmask always claimed to be. His true name and identity are not revealed.
5. Does Karos solve the insect puzzle?

Answer: No

Tehol once gave Karos an insect puzzle box to solve, which Karos has been obsessed with. Tehol says he'll solve it in exchange for a delay in his execution. He then easily solves it.
6. Who kills Rhulad Sengar in "Reaper's Gale"?

Answer: Karsa

Rhulad invites all the greatest fighters to duel him in hopes that he can die for good, for his many deaths and connection to the Crippled God have driven him mad. After Karsa kills Rhulad, Samar unleashes spirits in a knife, sending Karsa into the Crippled God's warren to kill Rhulad's soul. Honestly, I thought that cutting off Rhulad's right arm, the one permanently attached to the sword, before killing him would kill him for good, but my guess turned out to be wrong.
7. What happens to Sirryn Kanar, the man who kills Trull Sengar?

Answer: He's dragged to eternal torment.

Hedge asks Quick Ben if the mage can send Sirryn to eternal torment in retribution for killing Trull, and Ben replies that Hood owes him, and Sirryn is dragged away from the mortal realm screaming. As Sirryn's wife and children are terrified of him, I don't see this as a great loss to his family.
8. What does the Crippled God ask of Karsa?

Answer: To take up Rhulad's sword

The Crippled God says that it was always his plan to get Karsa the sword, with which Karsa can rule the Teblor. Karsa refuses because he makes his own choices and doesn't want to be a god's pawn. He's certainly changed from his days as an ignorant Teblor warrior who blindly follows the gods.
9. Who is proclaimed the Letherii Emperor at the end of "Reaper's Gale"?

Answer: Tehol Beddict

He marries Janath, who after her re-arrest was rescued by Bugg again. She had already killed the man who tortured her but was still chained to the bed, so luck was on her side. Despite the fact that he destabilized the economy, Tehol is crowned as "Tehol the Only".
10. Which of these is still alive at the end of "Reaper's Gale"?

Answer: Bottle

Some fans call the book "Weeper's Gale" for all the beloved (and not-so-beloved) characters who die. Bottle, who can essentially mind meld with rats, is still alive. Toc the Younger is killed in the battle that kills Redmask. Errant drowns Feather Witch. Fear tries to kill Ruin when Ruin tries to destroy Bloodeye's soul; before he can stab Ruin, he is killed by Clip. Fear's parents also die when the dungeons flood.
