Though they do actually catch rats, it's far from the only thing this guild does. They mainly operate as assassins and thieves.

He gains the Wyval blood at the beginning of the book. Feather Witch was supposed to get it, but he got it instead. And it's driving him mad.

He drugs Seren before leaving her, likely so she can't go after him and prevent his suicide. Seren finds him after waking up, and wails as she remembers he just said to her, "You have always held my heart."

A giant disc spans a gorge, and no one knows how it got there, though Trull suspects that the disc wasn't originally meant to be a bridge. He sees the disc turning extremely slowly. He notes that, if he wanted to stay put on the disc for a week or so, the disc would eventually turn enough to move him to the other side.

He asks a healer to save its life, and hits her when she refuses at first. When Lilac follows him around, others tend to avoid them. Trull soon sends it home so that his mother can't use Lilac for her own ends.

She asks Seren's group to do this in payment for her leading them through a Hold, and they agree. Unfortunately, although the ring is returned, the Crippled God gets a hold of her soul before she can dissolve. He wants her as a mate for his blacksmith Withal, who is lonely.

When undead, she inhabits a graveyard, and has interactions with Shurq. Her soul is Forkrul Assail. Near the end, she keeps Udinaas from dying when the Wyval Wither breaks free of him.

Answer: Mael

When Tehol is about to be beaten to death by Tiste Edur, Bugg saves him, killing his attackers and rebuilding his damaged body parts, including giving him a new eye. Mael is an Elder God of the seas. Tehol is amazed that a god would want to live as a servant, and Mael says that their interactions greatly amuse him.

Answer: Kill Rhulad

Rhulad has been seriously wounded by Brys, who cuts him in such a way that he's completely crippled, but won't bleed to death. Thus, he won't heal: the healing only comes with death. The brothers abandon him. A Guardian kills Rhulad, thinking that he's showing mercy, but he unintentionally brings Rhulad back to full health and life.

Answer: Find Father Shadow's spirit

Fear goes to Seren for help in doing so. Much earlier in the book, Fear and his brothers came across Shadow's skeleton during the quest for Mosag's gift, and now Fear hopes to find Shadow's soul.
