Crispin was being allowed passage out of the city with Bear, and John Aycliffe changed his mind about letting them go. Bear picked up Aycliffe and threw him onto the swords of the soldiers who were surrounding him.
2. In what book does Salamanca Tree Hiddle take a trip to Lewiston, Idaho with her grandparents?

Answer: "Walk Two Moons", by Sharon Creech

Salamanca (known as Sal) is going to Idaho to see her mother, who died in a bus accident traveling to Lewiston. Along the way, she tells a story of a girl named Phoebe and everything that happened to her while living in Euclid, Ohio.
3. In what book does a girl named Leslie drown when she swings across a creek on a rope and hits her head on a tree branch?

Answer: "Bridge to Terabithia", by Katherine Paterson

Leslie was trying to get to the imaginary magical kingdom (Terabithia) that she and her friend Jesse had created. Because Jesse had been away from home at the time, his family thought he had drowned, too.

Fagin leads a gang that Oliver is lead to when found, starving and tired, by a member of the gang. Oliver is captured by authorities when his companions steal a man's wallet. Eventually, with the help of the co-leader's girlfriend, gang members are captured and the gang ceases to exist. If the task of reading the orginal version is too daunting for you, read the abbreviated edition.
6. In what book does the main character get sent off to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry?

Answer: "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone", by J. K. Rowling

Harry Potter, who lives with his non-magic aunt and uncle, receives many letters about his acceptance to the school, but they are all witheld from him by his aunt and uncle. A letter is finally delivered to him by Hagrid, gamekeeper of Hogwarts. Harry goes to Hogwarts and eventually saves the Sorcerer's Stone from the hands of Voldemort.
7. In what book are the three rich Baudelaire orphans sent to live with Count Olaf after their parents perished in a terrible fire?

Answer: "The Bad Beginning", by Lemony Snicket

Count Olaf is a terrible guardian who makes Violet, Klaus, and Sunny do many difficult chores around his house. He then tries to seize the Baudelaire fortune by marrying Violet in a play, but is thwarted when Violet signs the paper with her left hand.

It was declared that the bride did not sign in her own hand, and the marriage was invalid. Count Olaf was then placed under arrest for hanging Sunny from his tower in a cage, but escapes at the last minute.

Matthias, a leader mouse of Redwall Abbey, fights Cluny the Scourge, a leader of evil rats. They chase each other around until the Abbey Bell falls on Cluny, killing him.

Answer: "The Golden Compass", by Philip Pullman

Lyra spends the whole book traveling with her friend, Roger, and the gyptians to find Lord Asriel, her father. When they finally find him on the island of Svalbard, he steals Roger and separates him from his daemon, instantly killing him. The energy released from the separation is enough to open a bridge into a parallel world.

The baby had one green eye and one blue eye, which means it is a Burdick. Mildred Burdick is a bully at Mary Alice's school who picks on her the very first day.
