To top it off, he is called into work on his day off, and then has to deal with annoying customers, drug dealers, his friend Randall in the video store next door, and trying to find someone to cover for him to go to his hockey game at 2pm.

As well as starring in the movie, Kevin Smith was the writer, producer, director and editor of "Clerks".

Answer: Coyote Ugly

Violet Sanford's (Piper Perabo) recording career is going nowhere. Desperately in need of money, she applies for a job at the bar "Coyote Ugly" and in doing so, overcomes numerous difficulties and finds her lost confidence and also love along the way.

In the end of course, they both have to pay for their actions.
