Interestingly enough, the film also garnered celebrity status with the inclusion of the song "Rock Around the Clock". The song was very controversial at the time.

This 1950 film, directed by John Huston, practically creates the mold for subsequent films about cleverly planned crimes. It also features Marilyn Monroe in a bit part. The exquisite details of a well planned scheme are well presented. However, don't try this at home.

The film "The Naked Jungle" is based upon the exquisite short story "Leiningen Versus the Ants". Heston portrays the character of Christopher Leiningen. He is willing to do anything to preserve his plantation against the frightening invasion of the ants.

Interestingly enough, Sinclair actually paid to have his work published, himself. It was considered to be much too controversial to be published by a mainstream publisher. It recounts the travails of immigrant workers in the United States, particularly in the Chicago stockyard industry.

Upton Sinclair also appears in the film, portraying himself. Sadly, the footage for the film does not appear to exist anymore. Hence, it is designated to be a "lost film".

In this fantasy film, children discover a board game that brings a variety of strange scenarios to life. Many of the game choices transport the players to jungle themes. The accompanying photo represents one of the game choices from which a stampede of animals invades the home.

Answer: Predator

Only after the crack team of military specialists traverse the jungle do they realize that their mission is somewhat different than what had been originally described. They happen to be ill-equipped to match the battle expertise of the extraterrestrial creature with whom they must battle. The ending is quite sublime.

Answer: Tarzan

This animated film by Disney approximates the story of Tarzan as depicted by Edgar Rice Burroughs. It is an engaging story and it has been replicated and modified many times throughout television and film history.

Answer: Tropic Thunder

Even though the film contains some objectionable material, it is considered to be a commercial success. It is replete with head-lining actors including Robert Downey, Jr., Jack Black, Ben Stiller, Nick Nolte, Matthew McConaughey and many others. Tom Cruise also makes an appearance in the film as a studio executive.

The soundtrack is quite brilliant as well. The photo is an overhead view of one of the film locations.

Answer: The Jungle Book

This Disney film brings the characters created by Rudyard Kipling to life. Many viewers and readers are well acquainted with the characters of Mowgli, Bagheera, Shere Khan, Kaa, Baloo and King Louie. Kipling was awarded a Nobel Prize for Literature in 1907.

Answer: George

"George of the Jungle" starred Brendan Fraser as the somewhat inept hero in this film transformation from a cartoon series. It does have a catchy theme song, though. George has been raised by friendly creatures in the jungles of Africa.
