Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who played Willy Wonka?

Answer: Johnny Depp

Willy Wonka was played by Johnny Depp. In the movie, Willy Wonka held a contest to help him find a child to take over the factory when he dies. Johnny Depp played Willy Wonka quite a bit differently to the first Willy. Some said that he acted a bit like Michael Jackson, but I think he did a great job putting a spin on Willy Wonka.
2. Who won at the end?

Answer: Charlie

Charlie was the only child who followed the rules and got to the end of the tour. Veruca fell into the garbage disposal in the nut room, Augustus fell into the chocolate river, Violet chewed a three course dinner that turned her into a blueberry, and Mike shrank in the TV room.
3. Who did Mike Teevee bring with him to the factory?

Answer: his dad

Mike and his dad didn't seem to have a very close relationship in the movie. Mike and Violet were the only two characters who didn't bring the same person to the factory as they did in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". Mike brought his dad, Violet brought her mom, Veruca brought her dad, Augustus brought his mom, and Charlie brought Grandpa Joe.

In "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory," Mike brought his mom and Violet brought her dad.
4. What did Veruca want?

Answer: a squirrel

In this movie, Veruca wanted a trained squirrel. Although Veruca demanded (and got) everything she wished for, she specifically asked for a trained squirrel. When she did not get the squirrel, she hopped over the fence which divided the people from the squirrels, and basically tried to pick up one of the squirrels. Willy Wonka said to Veruca, "Don't touch that squirrel's nuts!" This was when Veruca got trampled by squirrels crawling all over her.

The squirrels dumped Veruca down the hole where the bad nuts go and they went back to work.

In "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory", Veruca asked her father for a goose that laid golden eggs.
5. What must never be touched by human hands?

Answer: the chocolate river

When Augustus was kneeling down to drink the chocolate river, Willy Wonka yelled to him, "Little boy, stop that! My chocolate river must never be touched by human hands!" Then Augustus fell into the river.
6. How many people played Oompa Loompas?

Answer: 1

Surprisingly, only one person played all of the many Oompa Loompas. Deep Roy played all of the Oompa Loompas' different actions and then they used computers to duplicate him when lots of Oompa Loompas were supposed to be on screen.
7. Fill in the blank in this song from the movie: "Augustus Gloop, Augustus Gloop. The great, big _______ nincompoop."

Answer: greedy

The Oompa Loompas sang this song when Augustus fell into the chocolate river. Willy Wonka quite enjoyed this song and every song the Oompa Loompas sang. All of the songs that the Oompa Loompas sang about the children are on the "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" soundtrack.
8. Fill in the blank in this song from the movie: "Willy Wonka, Willy Wonka. The amazing ____________"

Answer: chocolatier

This song was played when the kids were about to enter the factory. Willy Wonka watched the show next to the kids and when one of them asked, "Shouldn't you be up there?" pointing to a chair where he should have been sitting, he said, "Then I couldn't see the show, little girl". He thought the finale really brought it together! This song is also on the soundtrack.
9. Finish this quote by Willy Wonka. "Everything is room is eatable. Even I am eatable. But that would be called __________..."

Answer: cannibalism

Willy Wonka said this when he showed the children the room that was totally eatable. The plants, the grass, the river (made of chocolate, but must never be touched by human hands) - everything. This was also the part where Augustus Gloop fell into the chocolate river.
10. What word did Willy Wonka have a hard time saying?

Answer: parents

He had a hard time saying parents because he didn't have a good relationship with his father when he was younger. He ran away from home when he was little and he never spoke to his father until Charlie made him go and make up.
