Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Not me, sir. I plan to live forever."

Answer: Commander William T. Riker

Riker responds to Picard's statement of time being a companion at the end of "Generations", after they finish rummaging through the remains of Enterprise-D's Ready Room, looking for Picard's photo album.
2. "You have to shoot. If you are logical, you must."

Answer: Captain Spock

In "The Undiscovered Country", Kirk, Spock and McCoy stage a ruse to bring the person responsible for altering the Enterprise-A's photon torpedo logs (and for sending Chancellor Gorkon's killers to Qo'nos One) into the Sick Bay. Spock, who said this line, expressed genuine shock and anger upon the discovery that their suspect was Lt. Valeris (Kim Cattrall).
3. "You ever think about getting married again?"

Answer: Lt. Commander Geordi La Forge

During the wedding reception in "Nemesis", La Forge posed this question to Guinan. Her response: "No...23 was my limit."
4. "I...have had...enough of...you!"

Answer: Admiral James T. Kirk

In "The Search for Spock", Kirk and Commander Kruge (Christopher Lloyd) are fighting hand-to-hand on the doomed Genesis Planet. At the end of the fight, a precipace gives way and Kruge suddenly finds himself hanging off the cliff. As Kirk moves in to save him (after all, it's the right thing to do), Kruge grabs his foot. Kirk, now completely fed up, kicks Kruge in the face with his other foot.

These are the last words Kruge hears before he plummets to his death.
5. "You do realize that by giving him the formula, we are altering the future."

Answer: Dr. Leonard McCoy

In "The Voyage Home", Kirk & Co. go back to to the 20th Century to round up some humpback whales. McCoy and Scotty's mission was to go to a Plexiglas factory to get the materials needed to build a tank in the "HMS Bounty" (the Bird of Prey). While at Plexicorp, Scotty revealed the formula for transparent aluminum to the facility's manager, Dr. Nichols (in exchange for the tank materials). Before the offer is sealed, however, McCoy pulled him aside and made this remark. Scotty then said: "Why? How do we know he didn't invent the thing?" After that, it was all smiles and the tank gets built.
6. "If I'm not careful, I'll end up talking to myself."

Answer: Dr. Leonard McCoy

In "The Final Frontier", Kirk, Spock and McCoy spent vacation together at Yosemite National Park. While Kirk was climbing El Capitán (and Spock was "monitoring" him), McCoy stayed safely on Terra Firma, watching the drama unfold (much to his disapproval) through binoculars.
7. "Then this will be your chance to get away from it all."

Answer: Admiral James T. Kirk

In "The Wrath of Khan", Kirk, McCoy and Saavik (Kirstie Alley) find the Transporter on Regula I is still active. From this, Kirk deduces that the Genesis probe and Dr. Carol Marcus have been beamed down to the Regula planetoid. When McCoy asks "Suppose they went nowhere?" this is Kirk's reply.
8. "You're blended, all right."

Answer: Commander William T. Riker

In "First Contact", Riker finds a drunk Deanna Troi in a bar at the Montana missile silo. She is trying very hard to tolerate the abberant behavior of a man she learns is Dr. Zephram Cochrane (James Cromwell), inventor of Warp Drive on Earth. In this scene, Troi says one of the funniest lines on all of "Star Trek": "Time line? This is no time to be arguing about time. We don't have the time...What was I saying?" Riker tells her she's drunk; she says she's "trying to blend in." Riker replied with this line.
9. "Now just a moment, Captain sir! I'll explain what happened: Your revered Admiral Nogura invoked a little-known, seldom-used, Reserve Activation Clause. In simpler language, Captain, they drafted me!"

Answer: Dr. Leonard McCoy

In "Star Trek: The Motion Picture", Kirk had used his influence to get McCoy back onto the Enterprise. After beaming aboard (and checking to see if he was intact), a very irritated and bearded Leonard McCoy makes his passionate case against being reactivated for duty to Kirk.
10. "Our guests have arrived. They are eating the floral arrangements."

Answer: Commander William T. Riker

In "Insurrection", the Enterprise-E is hosting a reception to honor the Evorans into the Federation. But while Picard was still trying to adjust his dress uniform, Riker comes in and makes this announcement, to which Picard recommends the galley prepare a "balsamic vinaigrette, something that goes well with chrysanthemums."
11. "According to myth, the Earth was created in six days. Now, watch out! Here comes Genesis! We'll do it for you in six minutes!"

Answer: Dr. Leonard McCoy

In "The Wrath of Khan", Kirk shows Spock and McCoy the video briefing of Project Genesis for the first time. McCoy, who was never one for high-risk technology in the first place, reacts to the briefing by saying this during a brief argument with Spock.
12. "I was never that young."

Answer: Commander Pavel Chekov

In "Generations", Chekov had just just introduced Captain Kirk to Ensign Demora Sulu (Hikaru's daughter), helm officer of the Enterprise-B, when he makes the remark to Kirk. Kirk's reply: "No. You were younger."
13. "Would you three like to be alone?"

Answer: Counselor Deanna Troi

In "First Contact", Picard and Data examine the Phoenix, which at one time was a nuclear missile. Picard takes a moment to live out a fantasy he'd had since he was a child: To touch the Phoenix. Data joins him, making very technical observations in the process. Troi, who is on the level above them, asks this question after observing them.

The "three" she is talking about are Picard, Data, and the Phoenix.
14. "In his quest to be more like us, he helped us to see what it means to be human."

Answer: Captain Jean-Luc Picard

At the end of "Nemesis", Picard tries to explain to B-4 how Data had enriched himself and the crew by striving to become more than the sum of his parts, so to speak. Initially, B-4 doesn't understand, but something soon happens. Just as Picard leaves the room they are in, B-4 begins to sing Irving Berlin's "Blue Skies", which Data had sung at Riker and Troi's wedding at the beginning of the movie.
15. "What's 'Emergency Landing Plan B'?"

Answer: Commander Pavel Chekov

In "The Final Frontier", Spock's half-brother Sybok (Laurence Luckinbill) has taken control of the raiding party on Nimbus III. En route back to the Enterprise-A in a shuttlecraft, Kirk is advised that a Klingon ship is on an intercept course. Seeing no other option, Kirk orders "Emergency Landing Plan B," which apparently involves firing the shuttle's boosters and flying it into the shuttle bay at full speed. According to Kirk, the "B" stood for "barricade." On the Bridge, it was Chekov who was puzzled by the order.
16. "Admiral, we are wasting precious time."

Answer: Lt. Commander Pavel Chekov

In "The Search for Spock", Kirk & Co. prepare to steal the Enterprise and attempt to save Spock's "katra" (which is trapped inside McCoy's mind). After Kirk tells his friends that he and McCoy must go to Genesis and that he can't order the others to come along, Chekov speaks his support by giving this line.
17. "Only the size of my head."

Answer: Commander Pavel Chekov

After Spock calls Kirk to the Bridge to report an unusual neutron radiation surge in "The Undiscovered Country", Kirk asks Chekov if he was aware of anything. This is Chekov's reply. Then, just as Kirk agrees with him, Chancellor Gorkon's ship is torpedoed. So much for sleeping off the Romulan Ale...
18. "It could hold a crew of tens of thousands."

Answer: Lt. Commander Nyota Uhura

In the theatrical release of "Star Trek: The Motion Picture", the crew of the Enterprise has just gone through the alien cloud to find an immense spacecraft (which we later learn is V'Ger). Uhura, marvelling at its size, makes this remark; McCoy then said "Or a crew of a thousand, ten miles tall." This line and McCoy's response were omitted from the Director's Edition DVD.
19. "Saddle up. Lock and load."

Answer: Lt. Commander Data

In "Insurrection", Picard surreptitiously moves several weapons and other equipment to the Captain's Yacht, only to find the rest of the Enterprise-E Bridge Crew there. At this moment, Data reminds everyone that while they may be under some kind of influence of the anti-aging properties of the Briar Patch, he is not. When Dr. Crusher asks what they should do, he said this.
20. "They like you very much, but they are not the hell your whales."

Answer: Captain Spock

In "The Voyage Home", Dr. Gillian Taylor (Catherine Hicks) first encounters Spock after his mind-meld with George and Gracie (the whales). Spock tries to tell her that they are independent creatures, but his grasp of "more colorful metaphors" isn't quite there yet.
