Dressed in yellow robes, the indigenous people of the planet were chasing after Kirk when he ran away with a roll of parchment. A beast then appeared out of nowhere and blocked Kirk's way. Kirk took out his phaser and stunned the beast, only to be informed by McCoy that the beast was their transportation out of there.

When asked by McCoy, Kirk explained that he saw the indigenous people bowing to the scroll earlier. Kirk then purposely left the parchment on a tree to buy them some time. Upon seeing the parchment, the indigenous people stopped chasing Kirk and McCoy. Instead, they bowed to the parchment. Both Kirk and McCoy then jumped off a cliff into the ocean and made their way to the Enterprise.

Answer: A father whose daughter was very ill

A young couple was seen visiting their daughter in a hospital. Their sad face while seeing their very ill daughter lying on the bed showed how much she meant to them. The father was then approached by John Harrison, who claimed that he could save the man's daughter's life. John then gave the man a package, which contained a vial and a ring.

In exchange, the man helped John carry out his evil plan -- he sneaked the ring into his workplace and used it to detonate the entire building.

During the meeting, Kirk pointed out that it made no sense for John Harrison to bomb the building. He then figured out that the bombing was just the first step of John's evil plan, because he knew that following the bombing, all the high ranking officers would gather in the meeting room at Starfleet headquarters.

It was then that a vessel appeared outside the window and it began bombarding the building. John fired shots mercilessly into the building. Kirk managed to stop the attack. Unfortunately, Admiral Pike was hurt. He eventually died in the arms of Spock. Spock performed a mind meld on Admiral Pike just moments before his death. He sensed Pike's anger, confusion, loneliness, and fear.

Armed with antimatter warheads, photon torpedoes were very high-tech and dangerous weapons. A total of 72 photon torpedoes were loaded onto the Enterprise, under the direction of Admiral Marcus.

Scotty sensed that something was not right with the photon torpedoes because he was not informed of the actual contents of the shielded weapons. He could not convince Captain Kirk to unload the photon torpedoes from the Enterprise. This left him no choice but to tender his resignation. Before he left, an emotional Scott warned Kirk, "Jim, for the love of God, don't use those torpedoes." Following Scotty's resignation, Kirk promoted Chekov to chief engineer.

On Kronos, the trio Kirk, Spock, and Uhura were attacked by a group of Klingon warriors. A fight broke out and John Harrison saved the trio. He then asked Kirk how many photon torpedoes were there in total on the Enterprise, to which Spock replied, "72." Upon hearing the number, John dropped his weapon and surrendered, much to the trio's bewilderment.

John later suggested Kirk to open a photon torpedo to examine its content. The delicate procedure was performed on a nearby planetoid, as Carol was concerned about the safety of the Enterprise. She enlisted the help of medical officer Dr. McCoy in the task, as she needed him to cut off a wire. However, as he did so, the torpedo's side compartment closed, trapping McCoy's hand inside the device. In an attempt to deactivate the countdown, Carol disarmed the device and saved McCoy's life. The upper compartment then opened. As McCoy and Carol gazed into the photon torpedo, they found a frozen man in a cryotube. Alarmed by the finding, a furious Kirk interrogated John Harrison as to why there was a man in the photon torpedo, to which John replied that there were men and women in each of the 72 photon torpedoes.

Back on Earth, Scotty was relaxing at a bar with Keenser. He then received a call from Kirk. Still angry with Kirk, he answered the call reluctantly. Kirk asked him to note down the four numbers, 23-17-46-11, which was a set of coordinates pointing to a location not far from Earth. Kirk also told Scotty that he might be right about the photon torpedoes, and Scotty interpreted that statement as an apology from Kirk.

The coordinates pointed to the planet Jupiter. Arriving at the massive planet, Scotty was surprised to find a shipyard there. He managed to sneak in and board the USS Vengeance, captained by Admiral Marcus.

Answer: They traversed space in thruster-powered spacesuits.

Kirk and Khan put on the thruster-powered spacesuits. Spock opened the airlock and the two of them were sent off into space. They traveled at an amazingly fast speed while navigating through a dangerous debris field. On the Vengeance, Scotty was waiting there to open the airlock manually when Kirk and Khan arrived. An officer suddenly appeared and confronted Scotty.

A nervous Scotty remained silent and when the time came, he opened the airlock. Kirk and Khan flew in, while the officer was sucked out to space.

Answer: "At great cost, yes."

The old Spock was from the future. When the young Spock inquired about Khan, the old Spock explained, "As you know, I have made a vow never to give you information that could potentially alter your destiny. Your path is yours to walk and yours alone. That being said, Khan Noonien Singh is the most dangerous adversary the Enterprise ever faced. He is brilliant, ruthless and he will not hesitate to kill every single one of you."

SPOILER AHEAD (from the film "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan"):

The explanation given by the old Spock was a reference to an important event in a previous film, "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" (1982). In the film, the Enterprise was badly damaged and the ship lost its power source. Khan had just activated the deadly weapon -- the Genesis Device. The massive explosion caused by the Genesis Device would destroy the Enterprise and kill all the crew. In order to save the ship, Spock risked his life by going into the radioactive warp core compartment to restore the damaged warp drive. Sadly, he died afterwards because of the deadly radiation.

Khan kept his promise by beaming Kirk, Scotty, and Carol to the Enterprise. He added sarcastically, "No ship should go down without her captain." Unbeknownst to Khan, Spock had actually ordered McCoy to remove all the cryotubes from the photon torpedoes.

McCoy realized that the dead tribble that had been injected with Khan's blood sprung back to life. Acting quickly, he ordered one of the men in the cryotubes to be removed so that he could put Kirk inside the tube to preserve his brain. Meanwhile, Spock was beamed down to Earth to pursue Khan. Spock broke Khan's arm and decided to kill him, but Uhura shouted in protest and informed Spock that only Khan could save Kirk.
