I love this scene, especially because Melanie, who is usually so timid and quiet, is very smart, takes control of the situation, and saves Ashley and Dr. Meade from being hanged.

There are a few differences. The mourning dress for Frank has faint horozontal lines going across the bust, where the other doesn't, and the neck line for each is different. There are no doubt some other minor diffferences, but these are the one's that I have noticed.

It is the scene right after she is caught with Ashley. Rhett goes into the closet and picks the Scarlett colored dress out. Scarlett probably wouldn't have picked out that unmatronly dress under the circumstances. Mammy was not in that scene.

When filming this scene, it only took Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh one try to get the act right. They did everything perfectly the first time through. However, Victor Fleming, the director, asked the scene to be run numerous times before he said it was perfect.

When Gable asked why he had to carry Vivien Leigh up the stairs so many times if he did it right the first time, Fleming said that he just wanted to see how many times Gable could carry Leigh up the long flight of stairs.
