Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Where does Rocky want to move?

Answer: California

Three teenagers go about stealing expensive items from peoples' houses in the Detroit area. To do this, they sneak into houses with security panels, punch in the codes, and go about their business, robbing homes for far from enough money. Rocky wants to make enough money to be able to move to California while Alex feels like he can't leave his father behind.

They aren't making enough though, and home life for Rocky is getting tougher and tougher, especially with her mother and her mother's boyfriend making like difficult for her and her sister.
2. According to Alex, why do he, Rocky, and Money never steal more than $10,000?

Answer: Because of the jail time

Rocky, Alex, and their colleague, Money, stake out a new job with the plan to steal from a veteran in an abandoned part of town. Based on the research done about him, the man is sitting on over three hundred thousand dollars in cash. Alex balks at the idea, saying that they don't do cash and never over $10,000 to avoid the significant jail time, but the payoff gets them that much closer to their goals. Alex says that he doesn't want to do this one, but Rocky's home situation leads him to change his mind.
3. When did the blind man lose his sight?

Answer: The War in Iraq

The trio stakes out the house they need to get into. According to Money, no other houses are occupied for four blocks. They get some footage of the area and, as it seems, the tenant of the house they're looking into is a bit of a shut-in since he hasn't left the house in five days. Coincidentally, he happens to be walking his vicious dog when they're parked out front. One important thing that they note while parked out front is that the man in the house is blind-- Money says he was blinded in the war in Iraq or something.
4. Where does the blind man hide his handgun?

Answer: Under his bed

On the night of the heist, the trio drugs the blind man's dog and searches for a side door (discovering the front door to have several locks). Rocky ends up going in through an upper window, being the only one to fit inside, and once she trips the alarm sensor on the window, she quickly searches the house to turn it off. She manages to disarm it at the last second and let the others in, telling them to leave their shoes at the back door to make less noise. And so their search for the money begins.
Several times, the three miss some concerning details right in front of their eyes, notably a locked basement door, padlocked from their side.
Upstairs, Money combines a few ingredients to make a homemade knockout gas, inadvertently waking up the blind man who, as he doesn't know, has a gun taped to the bottom of his bed. As the man rolls over to go back to sleep, Money is able to back out.
5. How does Money open the lock to the basement?

Answer: With a gun

After the blind man is asleep, Rocky finds the basement lock and the group believes that it's where their money is hiding. Money, unable to pry it open with a crowbar, frustratedly pulls out a 9mm and shoots the lock. Alex demands that they all leave since the crime has escalated, but before they know it, the blind man appears in the living room doorway, discovers that the basement door has been unlocked, and gets into a confrontation with Money without realizing that there are more people in the house.

The fight culminates with the old man getting the upper hand, grabbing the gun in Money's hand, and shooting him in the head when he's in a choke hold. Money doesn't reveal that he's not alone.
6. Where does the blind man keep all of his money stowed away?

Answer: In the closet

Rocky, afraid of being caught, hides away in the living room closet while Alex, worried about his companions, reenters the house. The blind man doesn't notice the reentry, locking his side door with a padlock and then boarding over the bathroom window exit.

The blind man eventually goes into the living room closet to reveal a safe hidden behind a movable wall panel. He opens it with the code and checks the contents before leaving. When Alex finds her hiding away, she opens the safe and takes all of the cash, what must be at least a million dollars.

There doesn't seem to be a way out though, at least not upstairs, and they're forced to head into the basement to evade the blind man while he disposes of Money's corpse, dragging it down the hall.

They aren't around to notice the man finding their shoes at the back door, indicating that there was definitely more than one intruder in the house.
7. What do Rocky and Alex find in the blind man's basement?

Answer: A person

Rocky and Alex climb down a ladder into the man's basement and wind their way through the narrow hallways to find a dark room with someone inside. To their shock, there's a woman strapped into a harness and trapped in a part of the basement line with cushions and mattresses. Nearby newspaper clippings indicate that she's the woman who killed the blind man's daughter, but she went missing weeks before.

They also don't realize that the blind man has her tied to a bell that he can hear from the upper floor of the house, and when it rings he knows she's moving around.

They're able to free the woman from her binds, but getting her out is another story. They wind their way to the basement door in an attempt to escape and unlock the padlock, keeping it shut, but the blind man ends up on the other side.

He fires ahead of him, nicking Alex's ear, but shooting and killing the woman from the basement.
8. Rocky and Alex end up trapped in a bedroom. How does Rocky get out?

Answer: Through an air vent

After facing the blind man in the darkness of the basement, Alex and Rocky reemerge on the main floor to find that the blind man's dog is awake. It chases them upstairs to a locked and barred room where, undoubtedly, they're trapped, and while the blind man grabs the revolver from beneath his bed, the two realize that if they can cause the alarm downstairs to go off, then the police will show and they'll be fine.

It's no longer about robbery; the man kidnapped someone. Rocky is able to squeeze into the house's vents while the blind man lets the dog into the bedroom and forces Alex to take a tumble out the window, knocking him out when he lands on the kitchen skylight.

The blind man inevitably finds him out there, shooting him through the window and trapping him in his workroom.
9. The blind man plans to use Rocky and keep her in his house for how long?

Answer: Nine months

Alex is pursued through the walls of the house by the dog, inevitably getting caught by the blind man, knocked out, and chained up in the basement. Rocky wakes up after a time and finds herself in her horrible predicament to find the blind man sitting nearby.

He explains that there's more at play than she knows. The woman he kidnapped should have gone to jail, but he planned to use her. He had inseminated her so that he could have a new baby to replace the one he lost, and now that Rocky is with him, she can replace her.

She must be held accountable. Alex, still alive after the vicious beating upstairs, locks the dog into the workroom and heads to the basement to save Rocky. He's able to do so, getting her upstairs, but the blind man shoots and kills him, leaving Rocky alone with the homeowner.
10. Does Rocky escape the house?

Answer: Yes

Rocky flees the house, running down the street to freedom, but the blind man's dog chases her through the neighbourhood and to the abandoned buildings nearby. She makes it to the getaway car, but fights with the dog all the while. She drops her bag outside, but devises a plan to retrieve it and, somehow, lock the dog in the trunk, trapping it in the vehicle while she gets out. This proves to be a bad idea; the blind man comes up behind her, knocks her out, and drags her back home.
Rocky is brought back to the nightmare house, but this time she realizes she has a secret weapon. In Alex's hand is the alarm system remote. When she turns it on, the blind man is helpless and, as he fires blindly around his living room, she subdues him, beating him and knocking him into the basement while she escapes. As the police respond to the call, she flees.

In the end, Rocky and her sister flee Detroit, heading to California. The news reports the crime at the blind man's house and that he's in stable condition though nothing was reported stolen.
