Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which member of the team gives a report in his or her fifth grade class in the opening scene of the film?

Answer: Reed

Reed Richards is the brainy member of the team. He gives a report about wanting to build a teleporter. He fails his report because the teacher tells him he was supposed to pick a "real" job.

Ben is in the same class, and is called to the front but the scene ends before he starts his report.
2. Which member of the team lives in a junkyard prior to the having his or her powers activated?

Answer: Ben Grimm

The junkyard, Grimm Salvage, is owned by Ben's mother and run by his entire family.

Despite being in the same class, Ben and Reed meet in the junk yard while Reed is searching for parts to build a science project.

It is there, when the two were in fifth grade, that their friendship starts.
3. Which member of the team is adopted?

Answer: Sue Storm

Sue Storm is the adoptive sister to Johnny Storm, and adoptive daughter to Franklin Storm.

Franklin is the man who hired his two children, Reed and Victor Von Doom to work at a think tank where the interdimensional teleporter is first perfected.

Sue gains the power of invisibility in the accident that gives the team their powers.
4. Does Reed Richards win his high school science fair?

Answer: No

His project gets himself and Ben Grimm disqualified because the judges feel he is using "magic" and that there is no real science shown.

During the science fair he sends a model plane to an unknown dessert area and brings it back, busting a basketball backboard in the process.

A potato clock is the winning project.
5. What fictional country is Victor Von Doom from?

Answer: Latveria

Von Doom is the Latverian dictator in several other incarnations of the "Fantastic Four" movies, however in this film he is a simple immigrant from the country, who works with Franklin Storm at the think tank that he runs.

Doom still has some of the evil tendencies he's shown in the past. By the end of the movie he has turned into a being with powers, bent on destroying the world.

Victor's heritage is brought up several times in the movie, specifically when he is being vetted to be brought back into the project after Reed agrees to work with Dr. Storm and his team.
6. After the accident that gives them their powers, Reed escapes from the government holding facility. Where does he hide out?

Answer: Panama

Johnny and Ben become contractors for the government, while Sue continues her work at her father's lab. Reed on the other hand realizes that he would never be truly free if the government continued to have oversight over his powers. So he escapes the facility and goes to Panama to hide out.

Reed is on the run for over a year before Sue helps the government track him down. Sue has the innate ability to recognize patterns from even before the accident. She tracks the few times Reed popped up online, and recognizes patterns to see where he is hiding. She then sends the military to Panama to find him.
7. Which member of the "Fantastic Four" is not on the initial trip to the alternate dimension?

Answer: Sue Storm

The group that decides to go on the first trip, unbeknownst to the government, consists of Johnny, Reed, Victor Von Doom and Ben. Sue, despite working for the think tank, is not asked to go along, instead Ben is brought in by Reed because of their friendship.

The trip goes sour when Victor is left trapped in the other dimension, which causes him to lose his mind and become the villain in the movie.

The device used to make the trip between dimensions is called the Quantum Gate.
8. What is the planet where the Quantum Gate takes people named by the military?

Answer: Planet Zero

While the other planet is known as the Negative Zone in the comics, it is deemed Planet Zero in the film.

The military plan to send through as many people as they could to be imbued with the powers that Planet Zero gives them.

The planet is completely different than Earth, granting powers seemingly at random, to anyone who is exposed to the atmosphere without a protective suit. The longer the exposure the less "human" the person remains after the exposure.

The planet is named during a scene where members of the military top brass are giving a report on Ben and Johnny's progress working for them since the accident. The planet name is used when referring to how they are going to send through more people to gain powers.
9. Ben Grimm was a member of the U.S. Marines prior to the accident.

Answer: False

In the comic books Ben was a marine, but in the movie he is only shown to be a high school student and to be working at his family-owned junkyard.

Not much is known about Ben prior to the accident, the only scenes he is in are with Reed, none of them gave much exposition into his life outside of the friendship the two men shared.
10. Where does the team go to work after defeating Doom?

Answer: In a private lab given to them by the government.

The team insists that they get some space to themselves, and not continue the working relationship with the government.

The team is given a large building in the heart of New York City. The building is referred to as "Central City" which is a reference to the city the team works out of in their first appearance in the comics.

Before they could settle on a name for the building or the team, the end credits roll.
