The 1967 film "Cool Hand Luke" was directed by Stuart Rosenberg and it is set in the state of Florida during the 1950s. Paul Newman plays the part of Luke Jackson, who was arrested for cutting parking meters off poles and sentenced to work on a chain gang in a prison camp. Luke gets the respect of other prisoners and the guards through his tenacity and confidence.

Angered, Billy the Kid starts killing these men in gunfights but his actions attract the attention of governor Lew Wallace and sheriff Pat Garrett.
