He goes to a therapist and is talked into returning home to Michigan to attend his 10 year high school reunion. Meanwhile, Martin is being stalked by both 'good guys' and 'bad guys'; despite the potential danger, he still wants to make amends with his former sweetheart (Minnie Driver) whom he left stranded on prom night.

McConaughey plays a Dallas electrician who is told he has AIDS and only one month to live, but he refuses to give up. He looks for alternative cures and winds up smuggling unapproved drugs into the United States. He and another AIDS patient, played by Jared Leto, decide to sell these 'illegal' treatments to other patients who are in similar situations and have been abandoned by their country's medical establishment.

This is a 1989 comedy with Morgan Freeman and Jessica Tandy who won a Best Actress Academy Award for her portrayal of Daisy Werthan, an elderly, Southern Jewish widow living in Atlanta. Despite her age, Daisy is fiercely independent, even continuing to drive her old car until she crashes it.

Her son, Boolie, arranges for her to have a chauffeur; and African American Hoke Colburn is hired. They are from very different worlds and their relationship starts out rocky but, over time, grows into a deep friendship.

James Dean starred in this poignant 1955 movie based on John Steinbeck's novel. Raymond Massey plays Adam Trask, a religious man and stern taskmaster. Dean stars as Cal, one of his sons, who is constantly in competition with his brother Aron for their father's approval (Cain vs Abel).

They were told their mother had died but Cal discovers this is not the case. When his father loses most of his fortune, Cal is able (no pun) to earn a great deal of money, but still cannot earn his father's love.

The film is set in Bangkok, Thailand where Ryan Gosling plays Julian who owns a club which is a front for drug smuggling. Julian's older brother Billy rapes and kills an underage prostitute and is caught by the Thai police. The police lieutenant, Chang, allows the girl's father to beat up Billy, but instead Billy is killed.

Their mother, Crystal (Kristin Scott Thomas), arrives in Bangkok and wants Julian to avenge his brother's murder, but he refuses. Mother, however, is not deterred and the violence continues.

The 2002 movie is set in the poverty-stricken favelas (basically slums) of Rio de Janeiro in the 1970s, where the growth of organized crime begins to flourish; it is loosely based on real events and many of the actors were actual residents of the favelas.

The plot follows Rocket, the narrator and an aspiring photographer, and his brother Goose, a petty thief. Alexandre Rodrigues plays Rocket, who takes the high road, while Goose and his fellow criminals leave a trail of death behind them.

Matt Damon is cast as Will Hunting in this 1997 movie about a young Boston janitor at M.I.T. A renowned professor discovers Will's genius for mathematics and, after Will gets into trouble with the police, the professor arranges for him to see a therapist. Robin Williams won a Supporting Actor Oscar as the therapist who helps Will re-think his relationships and his plans for the future.

This is a 2010 horror/thriller set in Los Alamos, NM, about 12 year old Owen (Kodi Smit-McPhee) a misfit who is bullied at school and plots revenge against his tormentors. Chloe Grace Moretz plays Abby, another outcast, who has just moved next door to Owen with her father. Abby and Owen become close friends, often communicating by Morse code against their apartment walls. We learn that Abby is a vampire and the 'fun' is just beginning.

Kubrick's 1987 Vietnam War film follows Matthew Modine as Private Davis, a wise-guy (in the old sense), who is nicknamed "Joker" by his drill sergeant during his basic training to become a U.S. Marine. Joker is paired with another recruit nicknamed "Gomer Pyle" and manages to survive basic training, although Pyle is not as fortunate. Davis becomes a sergeant and a war correspondent, and he and another soldier from his platoon wind up in country during the Tet Offensive, as the body count continues to rise.

Answer: Killers

This is a 1994 Oliver Stone film where Harrelson and Lewis play Mickey and Mallory Knox as husband and wife riding through the New Mexico desert. They stop at a diner where 'rednecks' harass Mallory and, with one exception, Mickey and Mallory kill all the patrons.

They tell the survivor their names and the two young, attractive serial killers become 'darlings' of the tabloids and TV, and are glorified to the status of cult heroes...but, don't forget, they had bad childhoods.

Answer: Luke

Paul Newman is wonderful as Luke Jackson in this 1967 drama of a lovable rebel who is incarcerated for vandalizing parking meters. He winds up on a southern prison farm where he will not bend to the pressure of the sadistic authorities. There is "a failure to communicate" (with Strother Martin), he takes the punishments in stride and becomes a hero to the other inmates. But, as with all rebels, the staff is determined to crush him.

Answer: Men

This 1957 Sidney Lumet film is one of the best courtroom dramas ever. Henry Fonda is the lone juror trying to sway the eleven other jurors to at least take the time to review the facts before making any life-or-death decisions for the defendant, an inner-city teenager. As they argue back and forth in a hot jury room, all the pettiness and prejudices begin to come to light.

Answer: Northwest

Cary Grant plays New York City ad executive Roger Thornhill in this suspense film from 1959. He is mistaken for a government agent, hunted by a relentless spy and must keep running on a cross-country journey in order to stay alive. This movie includes some of filmdom's most iconic scenes, e.g., Thornhill being chased by a crop-duster, and the unforgettable shot which takes place at Mount Rushmore. Hitchcock at his best!

Answer: Orange

Stanley Kubrick's violent 1971 film is based on the 1962 novel by Anthony Burgess set in a dystopian future. The title is based on a cockney expression "as queer as a clockwork orange", which means something doesn't seem quite right. Malcolm McDowell (Alex) spends his nights committing "ultraviolence" without remorse, and is finally jailed for one of the murders he committed.

He undergoes behavioral modification in order gain release and is subjected to constant violence to the music of his hero 'Ludwig Van'.

It ends badly and, perhaps, ironically.
