In this scene he has detected a team of two cheating at the game of blackjack (one partner could see a dealer's hole card from another table and signals the high-stakes partner with an electronic leg taping device). Rothstein pulls the signaler into a back room and has his men break the man's hand with several hammer blows. Then the man's partner is escorted in.

Agent K/Kay (Tommy Lee Jones) observes the skills of NYPD detective James Edwards (Will Smith) and nominates him.

In this scene Edwards and five other applicants are listening to Chief Zed (Rip Torn) introduce the tests they are about to take. When Edwards asks, "Maybe you already answered this, but why exactly are we here?" one of the other applicants jumps up and says, "Second Lieutenant Jake Jenson. West Point. Graduate with honors. We're here because you are looking for the best of the best of the best, sir." When Edwards laughs at this, Chief Zed asks line one. Edwards replies with line two.

This entertaining movie tells the story of two friends who go on a weeklong road trip through California's wine country the week before one of them is getting married. Miles (Paul Giamatti) is an uptight high school teacher and a wannabe writer, who is very knowledgeable about wine. Jack (Thomas Haden Church) is a small-time actor who loves to flirt with just about every woman he meets.

In this scene at the tasting bar at one of the vineyards they visit, server Stephanie (Sandra Oh) pours them a full glass instead of just the small sample visitors normally are poured. Jack playfully says line one and Stephanie, without missing a beat, replies with line two.

The plan was to use airborne paratroopers to secure three bridges behind the German lines and then link up with a ground thrust by the British 30 Corp, allowing easy access over the Rhine River into Germany.

In this scene 30 Corp has just reached Eindhoven, The Netherlands, and the local citizens have lined the road cheering the soldiers. Years later, the grown up boy (Leonardo DiCaprio) returns to the Five Points to seek vengeance against his father's killer. In this scene Tammany Hall's "Boss" Tweed (Jim Broadbent) is dismayed to learn Bill "the Butcher" has just killed Irish-American Sheriff Walter "Monk" McGinnis (Brendan Gleeson) and says line one. In the 2003 Academy Awards, "Gangs of New York" was nominated in ten categories but did not win any Oscars.

It was nominated for Best Picture but lost to "Chicago" and Martin Scorsese was nominated for Best Director but lost to Roman Polanski (for "The Pianist"). Although the draft riots for the Union army in the U.S. Civil War depicted in the film really did happen, the real-life Bill "The Butcher" Poole (the Daniel Day-Lewis character is based on him) was actually killed several years before the riots took place.

This movie is told in flashbacks as the children of Iowa farmer housewife, Francesca Johnson (Meryl Streep), start reading her journal after her death. In the events leading up to this scene, National Geographic photographer Robert Kincaid (Clint Eastwood) is assigned the job of photographing an old wooden covered bridge in Iowa.

He crosses paths with Francesca, who is trapped in a not very exciting life, and they hit it off and have a four-day affair. As Robert says later in the movie, "This kind of certainty comes but once in a lifetime." In this scene Francesca has shown Robert where the bridge is located, and to show his appreciation he picks her a bunch of wildflowers.

In this scene FBI agent-in-training, Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster), is interviewing Dr. Lecter in his Baltimore jail cell.

Her boss hopes she can gain some insight into the thinking of a psychopath that will help the FBI catch a killer currently on the loose. Dr. Lecter asks Clarice line one and she replies with line two.
