Severus Snape arrived late at Malfoy's residence. Everyone was waiting for him and Lord Voldemort said he had saved him a seat. Snape obtained the crucial information about Harry's departing date and time from the Order of Phoenix. He then leaked the information to Lord Voldemort, who seemed to trust him very much.

Answer: They employed several Harry decoys.

They planned to employ several Harry Potter decoys, in hope that this would distract the Death Eaters. Fred, George, Hermione, Ron, Mundungus and Fleur drank the Polyjuice Potion and became Harry decoys. Each of them was accompanied by another person for protection. The real Harry was accompanied by Hagrid, who flew him to The Burrow (Weasleys' residence) using Sirius' motorbike.

"Mad-Eye" Moody was paired up with Mundungus Fletcher. During their encounter with the cold-blooded Death Eaters, Mundungus disapparated, leaving "Mad-Eye" Moody alone in his fight. Upon hearing the tragic death of "Mad-Eye" Moody, Harry felt that it was his fault to have put so many people's lives in great danger. However, Ron managed to convince Harry to stay back.

The Quidditch Snitch also happened to be the very same Snitch that Harry caught in his very first Quidditch game when he played for the Gryffindor team during his first year of study at Hogwarts. Dumbledore's second bequest for Harry was the Sword of Godric Gryffindor. However, Scrimgeour said that the sword was not Dumbledore's to give.

Mundungus Fletcher told Harry that he was selling something without a license at Diagon Alley when Umbridge approached him and threatened to send him to jail. Umbridge was particularly interested in the locket that Mundungus was selling. So, Mundungus gifted her the locket in exchange for his freedom.

However, little did Umbridge know that the locket was actually one of Voldemort's Horcruxes.

Hermione reminded Harry that back in their second year of study at Hogwarts, Harry used a basilisk fang (with venom on it) to destroy Tom Riddle's diary, which was the very first Horcrux that he destroyed. One winter night, Harry wandered off to a frozen lake and he found that the sword was at the bottom of the lake.

He dived into the lake to retrieve the sword but he was trapped. Ron arrived just in the nick of time to pull Harry out of the lake. Harry hissed in Parseltongue to unlock the locket and asked Ron to destroy the Horcrux by using the Sword of Gryffindor, which had absorbed basilisk blood.

Answer: The Tale of the Three Brothers

While Hermione and Ron were familiar with the story of "The Tale of the Three Brothers", Harry had never heard of the story. So Hermione read the story aloud. The story was about how three brothers cheated Death when they tried to cross a river using a magical bridge.

In return, Death awarded each of them an item. Each of the three brothers received a powerful artifact. The three items made up the Deathly Hallows. According to Xeno, whoever had all three items in procession would become the Master of Death.

While visiting Godric's Hollow, Hermione noticed that the Deathly Hallows sign was engraved to Ignotus Peverell's grave. In "The Tale of the Three Brothers", the eldest brother received the Elder Wand from Death. However, he was later killed in his sleep for this powerful wand. Meanwhile, the second brother was awarded the Resurrection Stone from Death.

He used it to resurrect the woman he loved, but she was not actually "alive" as the second brother expected, so he committed suicide. The youngest brother was a wiser one; he asked for something that could escape Death, and Death granted him the Cloak of Invisibility. Death could not find him because he was wearing the cloak all the time.

When the youngest brother was old and he knew his days were numbered, he removed the cloak and passed it to his son.

It was only then that Death managed to find him. Death was pleased by the youngest brother's ingenuity.

Dobby was an elf so he could apparate into the room where Harry was held captive. Harry asked him to apparate with Luna and Ollivander, and then came back to get him and Ron. When Dobby apparated for the second time with Harry and his friends, Bellatrix threw a silver knife at Dobby's chest.

They apparated to a beach. Harry noticed that Dobby was seriously injured. He wished there was something in Hermione's bag that could cure Dobby but Hermione said there was nothing they could do. Dobby later died peacefully in Harry's arms. Harry buried Dobby without using magic.

Voldemort learned from Ollivander the wand maker that the Elder Wand was buried with Dumbledore. Since the Elder Wand was a very powerful wand that could defeat any opponent, Voldemort wanted it very much. He eventually retrieved the wand from Dumbledore and he thought he had become the new master of the wand.
