Andrea Bowen was a patient of Dr. Meade and had done hypnosis treatments with him. Suspecting that Meade was dangerous, Andrea called Detective Wade Rollins but accidentally picked up a phone call from an unknown number (Meade) that eerily stated "Andrea, this is how the world ends." After this statement Andrea's claustrophobia kicked in and she thought the elevator's walls were closing in on her and a heart attack ensued.

Awkwardly, Jenn and her ex-fiance Brian were both at Gina's housewarming party. Also at the party was Dr. Meade who observed Jenn save Brian from eating an appetizer that had sesame. Jenn and Brian started seeing each other again and while at her house for dinner Jenn served Brian a salad with sesame oil that caused him to have a severe reaction. Later Jenn realized that she was under the control of Dr. Meade's hypnosis on the night of her dinner date and sesame incident with Brian.

Jenn was at first evasive with Dr. Meade but then opened up, telling him that she was six months pregnant when she had the miscarriage. The baby was stillborn and she was able to be with him for about 30 minutes. After this devastating event Jenn and Brian's relationship wasn't the same and she called off their engagement.

While the lights flickered Dr. Meade instructed Jenn through several relaxing commands. Eventually Jenn imagined herself in a forest and she woke up from her hypnosis refreshed. She continued her weekly hypnotherapy sessions with Dr. Meade for three months.

Earlier in "Hypnotic" Gina joked to Jenn that Dr. Meade's therapy had helped her but she was still deathly afraid of spiders. Before Meade's call to Gina she had gone with Jenn to the police station and Jenn had attempted to record him while she was under hypnosis. Knowing that they were cognizant of his nefarious practices, Jenn tried to warn Gina about Dr. Meade but tragically she died thinking a spider was on her as she sped up her car and slammed into a semi-truck.

When Wade Rollins visited Dr. Meade's office he was offered a scotch. While making his scotch Wade took a stirring spoon from the bar area. He implied to Meade that he knew that he induced hypnosis in people and activated their fears, putting them in grave danger.

After the spoon was analyzed it was determined that Dr. Colin Meade was an alias of Julian Sullivan, the son of hypnotist Dr. Xavier Sullivan.

Project MKUltra was begun by the CIA in 1953 and it used techniques including brainwashing, psychological torture, psychoactive drugs, electroshocks and hypnosis. The experiments were undertaken at universities, hospitals and prisons until 1973 and in 1975 much of the information about MKUltra was made public causing public outcry and investigations.

In the film "Hypnotic" it wss explained that Xavier Sullivan was the lead hypnotist of MKUltra and he implanted false memories to coerce people into performing certain actions. Like father like son, Colin Meade (alias of Julian Sullivan), used hypnosis to plant memories into his patients to compel them to do things while under his control.

When Dr. Graham attempted to induce hypnosis, Jenn's body violently reacted and she nearly choked to death. Graham explained that Meade put hypnosis fail-safes on Jenn that made her body reject anyone else doing hypnosis on her. However, Graham told Jenn that she could plant a fail-safe counter so that whenever Meade said 'my love' to her she would snap out of hypnosis. Meade used the term 'my love' often to Jenn when she was under hypnosis and he was acting as if she was his deceased wife.

During Jenn's hypnosis therapy sessions Dr. Meade planted memories of him and her in romantic situations at his family home. On March 6th he kidnapped her and brought her to the house that she had false, implanted memories of. Meade put Jenn in one of his deceased wife's dresses and told her that she was a perfect replacement for her and that they were celebrating an anniversary.

It was also revealed that Meade's hypnosis sessions for women was a ploy to find a replacement for his deceased wife.

When Meade realized that Wade had come to rescue Jenn he induced hypnosis on her and tied her to a bedpost. She eventually escaped but her post-hypnosis vision was blurry and she ended up accidentally shooting Wade. Badly hurt, Wade told her that he still had a gun in his ankle strap which Jenn took to shoot and kill the villainous Dr. Meade.
