Daniel is the name John goes by before he and Henri have to leave their beach house in Florida. All of John's friends call him Daniel while they are having fun on the beach. After he and Henri leave and arrive at a hotel, Henri calls the school to let them know that "Daniel" will not be back for the rest of the semester.

Henri gives him the new name of John Smith to make it harder for them to be tracked.

John and the other Loriens can only be killed in numerical order. He already has two scars on his leg from where Number One and Number Two died. He is in the ocean swimming with a girl when his leg starts to glow. This glow causes his leg to hurt and burn while the symbol for Number Three is being branded into his skin.

He also gets a vision of Number Three being killed while the scar is forming.

While John is waiting for the school's secretary to get his paperwork in order and his schedule ready, he overhears a conversation going on in the principal's office. A teacher is complaining about some pictures of him that Sarah had posted to her website. When Sarah goes to leave the office after the meeting with the principal, the secretary asks her to show John to his locker.

It's dark outside when John and Henri hear a noise coming from outside. They go to investigate and John finds a beagle under the bush. He picks it up and brings it into the house. He then decides to name him Bernie Kosar after the football player on the poster in his room.

Henri is a warrior from John's home planet assigned to protect him. Henri is constantly telling John to stay off the radar and blend in and is always looking out for him. He also deletes all pictures of John that people post on the Internet. He and John often argue because John draws attention to himself.

John is sitting in class when he first starts to attain his legacies. His hands start to glow and he rushes out of the room and hides in a janitor's closet. Henri comes rushing to the school and finds him. He then tells him that his legacies are powers passed down to him from his parents who were part of the Lorien guard.

His legacies give him increased strength, speed, and agility as well as special powers like telekinesis.

Answer: Number Six

John and Sarah are in the hallway when Number Six blows open the doors and starts shooting at the Mogadorians. Number Six has actually been tracking John and the Mogadorians since her guardian was killed. We find out that she is Number Six when she catches up to John and Sarah at the school and John asks her which number she is. When Sam asks what her name is, she sarcastically replies "Jane Doe".

Number Six is blonde and she rides a red motorcycle. She is the first one to arrive at the beach house that John and Henri abandon and she burns it down to try and make it harder for the Mogadorians to track them. Her legacies allow her to become invisible and create a protective shield to block attacks. She also has enhanced strength and speed as does John.

Answer: Chimera

At the beginning of the movie when John and Henri are packing up to leave Florida, a small green lizard crawls into their bags. Once they get to Paradise, the lizard climbs out of the truck and crawls under a bush where he turns into a beagle. John doesn't find out that his dog is really a chimera until Number Six tells him what he is after the dog shape-shifts in front of Sam.

She also tells him that Bernie was sent with him from Lorien to protect him.

Once the Mogadorians release their flying monsters from the truck, Bernie shape-shifts into his true form as a chimera in front of Sam. When one of the monsters is following John in the hallway, Bernie comes in and attacks the monster to protect him. Bernie and the monster end up in a shower room and Bernie gets injured.

The monster goes to attack Bernie again, but he slips and falls and Bernie takes advantage of the situation and kills the monster. He then returns to his form as a dog, but he has an injured paw.

The next day he shows up with a limp when John is getting ready to leave Paradise.

Answer: The box his father left him

Mark, Sarah's ex-boyfriend, is a football player who bullies Sam and John in the movie. After the ordeal with the Mogadorians at the school, his feelings toward John seem to have changed. He tells John which way to head because he told his father, the sheriff, that John was heading in the opposite direction. He also hands John the box and says that his dad would never miss it and evidence comes up missing all the time.

The box is silver and blue and is one that was left for John from his father. In their new house in Paradise, Henri hides it in the bottom of a grandfather clock. When John gets his legacies, the box starts to glow. When Henri goes to get some videos of John removed from a website, he leaves the box on the table for John. We never see the box get taken, but it is implied that it is confiscated during the investigation the police are conducting with the belief that John and Henri are terrorists.
