Ford took time out to make some quiet thrillers as well, including 1985's 'Witness'.

Uma also appeared in Tarantino's 'Kill Bill' films.

Directed by Penny Marshall, 'Jumpin' Jack Flash' tells the story of Terry Doolittle, a bank worker who becomes firmly ensconced in a full-blown spy caper when she meets a mysterious secret operative through the bank's computer network. Goldberg is charming in this film.

As a matter of fact, 'Julia' marked the screen debut of Ms Streep. The story revolves around Lillian Hellman, a real life writer (and author of the novel upon which the film is based) who is attempting to secret money to a childhood friend in Nazi Germany. Jane Fonda and Vanessa Redgrave play the lead roles in this film.

Michael Caine plays a British officer in the 1964 war film 'Zulu'. The film depicts the events surrounding a particularly brutal battle during the Zulu wars of the late 19th century. It's one of Caine's first major roles.

'Adam's Rib', the story of an otherwise loving husband and wife who duel in a courtroom over a bitter divorce case. This 1950 film is often cited as the best of the seven films featuring the screen team of Hepburn and Spencer Tracy.

'White Heat' once again combined the superb acting of Mr. Cagney with the able direction of Raoul Walsh. In the film, Cagney plays a gangster who unwittingly befriends an undercover cop, played by my personal favorite actor Edmond O'Brien. Cagney hopes to pull off one last big burglary before retiring from the crime business, while O'Brien hopes to foil the burglary attempt.

Philip Seymour Hoffman made a career out of character acting, appearing in a vast array of films including 'Scent of a Woman', 'Boogie Nights' and 'The Big Lebowski' before taking on a number of lead roles in the 2000s. In 'Magnolia', Hoffman plays a nurse to the dying Jason Robards character.

The movie weaves in and out of the lives of these two characters, along with several others, in an almost random milieu, with bizarre events occurring on a regular basis. Hard to explain, but a lot of fun to watch.

Answer: Almost Famous

Though McDormand is a Best Actress winner (for her efforts in the 1996 film 'Fargo'), she is best known for playing smaller character roles. Take for example her role in 'Almost Famous' where she plays the skeptical mother of the Patrick Fugit character, a young man who hopes to achieve success as a rock-n-roll writer for 'Rolling Stone'. McDormand nearly steals the show despite her relatively small role.
