Richard Linklater's "Dazed and Confused" featured a large ensemble cast of actors, many of whom later became quite famous. 'Pink' Floyd was played by Jason London; other featured actors included Matthew McConaughey, Ben Affleck, Parker Posey, and Milla Jovovich. Renee Zellweger also appeared very briefly, in an uncredited role. The entire span of the movie covered just a few hours, starting with school letting out for the summer. The high school class that would be seniors in the fall started their summer vacation by hazing the new group of freshmen. Later, the teens had a big party at the Moon Tower, after a few hours of aimless driving around and hanging out. A plot detail that followed through the film was that of Pink and his football team buddies being asked to sign a pledge that they would not do drugs over the summer. To the great displeasure of the football coach, Pink refused to sign his.

Both films involved spectacular sequences of mass destruction, poignant scenes filled with teary goodbyes, and noble acts of self-sacrifice. And both films earned a combined revenue of over $900 million worldwide, proving that the disaster film was alive and well in 1998.

"Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" revolves around the trials and tribulations of two bank robbers trying to escape the law. Redford would have starred with Katherine Ross (who plays the character of Etta Place in the movie) two years earlier - but he lost out on the role of Benjamin Braddock in "The Graduate" (1967) to Dustin Hoffman because the director, Mike Nichols, thought Redford was too good looking - and no one would have believed that he would have any trouble in getting "the girl". The search sets in motion an exciting chain of events in the quest for the treasure that will save the town. This includes a disturbing encounter with a criminal family called the Fratellis, who chase them all the way. This is a Nancy Drew type story, given the Steven Spielberg treatment. The child actors are incredible and very funny, and the action is superbly set in underground tunnels and caves, and an old pirate ship. Spielberg wrote the story but the film was directed by Richard Donner, who had directed "The Omen" and "Superman" and went on to direct the "Lethal Weapon" movies.

As well as being great films, the answers to all ten questions are also my top 10 films of all time. "The Usual Suspects" is (currently) my tenth favourite.

This tagline applies to "Bring It On" since it was a movie based a high school cheerleading competition, in which the best moves do win.

'Kill Bill' director Quentin Tarantino decided to divide the movie into two halves, thereby not having to compromise on his creativity. The effect somehow works perfectly. Tarantino first came up with the idea for 'Kill Bill' while in the process of filming his much praised 'Pulp Fiction'. 'Kill Bill' has an incredibly high body count. The number of people killed in the House of Blue Leaves scene alone is 57. Tarantino pays homage to many things in the movie, including Bruce Lee, the movie 'Twisted Nerve', the Green Hornet, and Charlie Chan. Both Kevin Costner and Warren Beatty were asked to play the role of Bill, but each declined. As per Beatty's suggestion, Tarantino hired David Carradine. Carradine had been a childhood hero of Tarantino's, having played the main character in the TV series 'Kung Fu'.
