Answer: Shawn Levy

Shawn Adam Levy is a Canadian-American director as well as a producer. He was born on July 23, 1968. Levy also directed and produced "Night at the Museum 2". For Levy, he felt that as a director, it was "Night at the Museum" that "blew the lid off of" his career. He said that the "Museum" films were what gave him a "handle on tone" because they were so comical and also so heart-warming. (Quotes from examiner.com)
The story was based on the 1993 book "Night at the Museum" by Milan Trenc.
2. Who had the leading role in "Night at the Museum"?

Answer: Ben Stiller

Ben Stiller played the role of Larry Daley. Larry was divorced and just couldn't seem to hold down a good job. Because of his inability to keep a job, his ex-wife felt that Larry was a really bad example for their son Nick who was eleven years old. When things got rough and Larry was facing eviction he accepted a job as a night watchman at the Museum of Natural History in New York City.
3. Who were the characters Cecil, Gus and Reginald from the film "Night at the Museum"?

Answer: Night watchmen

Cecil, Gus and Reginald are the three aging night watchmen who were retiring from the museum. The three fellas informed Larry to keep the lights on and not to let anything in or out of the museum during his watch. Cecil Fredericks was played by Dick Van Dyke. Gus was played by Mickey Rooney and Reginald was played by Bill Cobbs.
4. During the movie "Night at the Museum", a Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton called "Rexy" came to life at night. What animal did Rexy behave like?

Answer: Dog

Rexy behaved like a dog when he came to life at night. After having chased Larry Daley through the museum, Larry finally learned that Rexy wanted to play fetch with one of his own rib bones. Larry would toss the bone and Rexy would run after it, bring it back and want the bone to be tossed again.
5. With a great cast of characters in "Night at the Museum", this comedy had dioramas of a miniature civilization of the Old West and a miniature Roman Empire. Which actors played the roles of the constantly quarreling Jedediah and Octavius?

Answer: Owen Wilson and Steve Coogan

Jedediah Smith was played by Owen Wilson. Octavius was played by Steve Coogan. Jedediah liked to blow things up, was quite sarcastic and thought he was so much bigger than his miniature self truly was. Octavius was a Roman general with leadership abilities. Octavius hated when Jed would blow things up and cause problems in the Roman diorama. To both be let out of their dioramas at night, they were supposed to stop quarreling.

They agreed to do so but the quarreling still continued. Eventually both Jed and Octavius had to join forces to help save the day for the museum.

They risked their lives but learned that they had similarities and the desire to do what was best for their people. With that discovery, they became friends.
6. In "Night at the Museum" which wax figure told Larry Daley why the characters came to life at night?

Answer: Theodore Roosevelt

Robin Williams, in the role of the wax figure of Theodore Roosevelt, told Larry that there was an Egyptian artifact called the Golden Tablet of Pharaoh Akhmenrah that was responsible for the museum exhibits coming to life each night. This artifact arrived at the museum in 1952 bringing life to the exhibits until the sunrise. If sunlight was to touch any of the characters they would then be turned into dust so it was very important to restore all of the exhibits back to their proper places before sunrise.
7. What caused Larry Daley to be nearly fired for the first time, in "Night at the Museum"?

Answer: Neanderthals set fire to their exhibit.

After reading about the exhibits in order to do his job better, Larry tossed the Neanderthals a lighter, gave the Easter Island head some gum, tricked Dexter with toy keys and made a truce between the leaders of the dioramas. When things went awry again anyway, the Neanderthals managed to set their display on fire. An escaped Neanderthal never made it back at sunrise so he was turned to dust and swept away by a road cleaning truck. Larry was nearly fired because of the fire in the Neanderthal exhibit but Dr. McPhee gave him another chance.
8. When Larry brought his son Nick to the museum for the night, why didn't the exhibits come to life right away?

Answer: The ex-night watchmen had deactivated the tablet.

When Larry brought Nick to the museum it was quickly discovered that the old security guards, Cecil, Gus and Reginald, had stolen the magic tablet that was on Akhmenrah's sarcophagus. Without the tablet the exhibits could not come to life. The tablet gave the ex-nightwatchmen extra strength which was why they were trying to steal it. Nick managed to reactivate the tablet which turned all of the exhibits to life again.
9. When the main thief in "Night at the Museum" was trying to escape, which form of transportation did he use?

Answer: Stagecoach

After some of the exhibits had managed to capture Gus and Reginald, Cecil had still managed to escape in a stagecoach. Larry, Nick, Akmenrah, Jed, Octavius and Atilla were in pursuit while other exhibits ran amok in Central Park. Cecil finally got caught and the exhibits hurried back to the museum before sunrise would turn them to dust.
10. After so much chaos had happened in "Night at the Museum", Dr. McPhee finally did fire Larry. What prompted McPhee to hire Larry back right away?

Answer: News reports increased customer attendance at the museum.

When the newspapers reported the strange happenings that surrounded the museum the stories prompted people to head to the museum and view it. Reports had stated events such as cave paintings in the subway station. There were dinosaur footprints in Central Park that could not be explained.

Many people had sighted cavemen. All of these reasons caused Dr. McPhee to give Larry his job back because Larry was responsible for the sudden growth of customers to the museum.
