Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. After the damage done to the nine realms from Loki's attack on Earth, Thor travels to each realm to bring peace. The first world we see him on in the movie, is already in the heat of battle when he arrives. Lady Sif is the Asgardian leading the battle. When he arrives, she tells him, "I've got this completely under control." How does Thor respond?

Answer: "Is that why everything is on fire?"

Thor and his warriors are still able to maintain their sense of humor, even during battle. The battle continues until a large, monstrous enemy approaches Thor. Thor spins Mjolnir around and hits his opponent in the chin, and it disintegrates. This ends the battle, as the rest of the opposing army lays down their weapons.
2. After defeating the last enemy and ending the battle, one of Thor's friends quips, "Perhaps next time we should start with the big one." Who says this?

Answer: Fandral

The battle appears from the viewer's perspective to continue for a long period of time. It ends when a very large creature, who appears to be made of rock, came up to Thor, to cheers from Asgard's opponents. Thor simply spins his hammer around and hits the creature in the chin, and it falls in a bunch of small pieces on the ground. Seeing who they thought would beat Thor reduced to rubble, the rest of Thor's enemies lay down their weapons in surrender, leading Fandral to utter this line.

After returning to Asgard after the battle, Thor and Odin have a discussion about Thor's constant thoughts about Jane Foster. Odin tries to convince Thor that he should pursue a woman like Sif, because she is his own kind. Thor eventually goes to Heimdall, who realizes that he cannot see Jane.

This causes Thor to return to Earth for the first time since Loki attacked New York.
3. As part of the plan to smuggle Jane off world, Thor entrusts Heimdall to keep the secret from Odin. Also, Heimdall is asked to summon Odin to him as a distraction. When Odin asks Heimdall what he summoned him for, he says, "Treason, my lord." When Odin asks whose treason he is informing him of, what does Heimdall say?

Answer: "Mine."

Each member of Thor's trusted team had a vital part of their treasonous mission. Sif retrieves Jane, Volstagg holds off Odin's soldiers, and Fandral pilots the boat next to where Thor and Loki would be flying the Dark Elf ship. Heimdall tells Odin of his own treason to distract Odin enough for Thor to make his escape.
4. Our first look at Jane Foster in the movie happens while she's on a date. Her date tells her that he thinks there is a story about her, because she's been staring for ten minutes at a menu with only three choices. During the conversation, a friend of Jane's interrupts them, and is surprised that she's not moping about Thor, saying, "You even showered, didn't you? You smell good." Who says this?

Answer: Darcy

Darcy tells Jane that she should start looking at her equipment again, because there are some strange readings again. This distracts Jane even more, and eventually she leaves her date in the restaurant by himself. Darcy, knowing Jane couldn't resist, waits for her in the car, and drives them both to the location of the strange readings on Jane's equipment.
5. During Thor, Jane, and Loki's escape from Asgard, they plan on using a few of Thor's best friends to aid in their escape. Many of them tell Loki, "If you betray him, I will kill you." The third person to tell Loki this doesn't even finish the statement, before Loki says, "You'll kill me?" What does Loki add at the end of this question?

Answer: "Evidently there will be a line."

Thor is actually the first to tell Loki that he would kill him if Loki betrayed him. Lady Sif is the second, brandishing her sword at Loki's neck as she says it. Volstagg is the final one, not even finishing the sentence, "If you even think about betraying him..." before Loki says his question and statement in reply.
6. After springing Loki from his cell in the dungeon, they walk together to meet Jane and the rest of his loyal crew. As they walk, Loki asks Thor if he wouldn't prefer better company. He transforms Thor into another person with his power, and says, "Mmm brother, you look ravishing!" Who did Loki turn Thor into?

Answer: Lady Sif

Thor responds to this, after seeing who he looked like, by saying to Loki, "It will hurt no less when I kill you in this form." Loki then transforms himself into Captain America as a way to taunt Thor. Hela is Thor and Loki's sister, Odin's first born child. She however, did not appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe until "Thor: Ragnarok".
7. While escaping Asgard with Jane on a dark elf ship, Thor and Loki engage in a verbal fight with each other. One of the wings of the ship clips a stone statue, taking the head of the statue off. Loki says to Thor, "Well done, you just decapitated your grandfather." Whose likeness does the statue represent?

Answer: Bor

King Bor was the father of Thor's father Odin. Thor and Loki's argument back and forth is played for laughs in a very tense moment in the film. Despite not trusting Loki, Thor loves his brother in his own way, and the two continually act as brothers often do, fighting, arguing, and teasing each other.
8. During the escape from Asgard and the ensuing chase, while Thor and Loki are arguing, Jane collapses. Loki says, "Oh, dear. Is she dead?" When Thor checks on her, he finds out. Is Jane dead at this point?

Answer: No

Jane does not die in that moment, or at any point in the movie. She simply collapses from the strain that the Aether is putting on her system. Jane indicates that she is alright, and eventually, they succeed in their escape. Once the Aether is taken off-world, Malekith and his Dark Elves leave Asgard. Thor and Loki attempt to destroy the Aether as Malekith pulls it from Jane's body, but they do not succeed. Malekith gains control of the Aether, and begins to prepare for his final conquest of the Nine Realms.
9. Thor breaks Loki out of the dungeon, because the only way off of Asgard is through a passageway known only to Loki. After Fandral holds off the pursuing craft, Loki begins to pilot their transport toward what looks like the side of a mountain, with a small hole. Thor asks Loki, "Are you mad?" How does Loki reply?

Answer: "Possibly."

Loki also tells Thor, "If it were easy, everyone would do it." As they emerge on the other side of the mountain, they arrive on a different world. Loki says, Ta-da!" After another brotherly fight, the two then plan a strategy to destroy the Aether.
10. Just before the final battle in Greenwich, Thor confronts an enemy. His combatant tells him, "You needn't have come so far, Asgardian. Death would have come to you soon enough." Who is Thor fighting at this point?

Answer: Malekith

Malekith is the leader of the Dark Elves, and was the one who had tried to plunge the Nine Realms into eternal darkness with the Aether during King Bor's reign. He and his most trusted advisor went into a sort of hibernation period after the Aether was taken away, and did not wake again until the Aether entered Jane's body, and Malekith could feel its presence again.

At the final battle, Thor uses the equipment of Jane's to cause enough cosmic disturbances to stall Malekith from succeeding in using the Aether on the Nine Realms during the Convergence. Malekith and his ship are transported to an uninhabited area of another planet in the Convergence, and his ship falls on him, crushing him.
