"Seasons of Love" was the opening song to the second act of the stage musical, but the film opens with the cast standing on a stage singing "Seasons of Love". "Seasons of Love" is also one of only two songs in the film to feature lines by all eight of the main characters.

Roger says this line sarcastically to Benny during their argument about the protest. In the original stage musical Collins sings this line, but due to the change of timeline for the film, Roger sings it instead.

Although all of "Goodbye Love" is not shown in the final film, the first half is still there. "Halloween" is the only song listed that isn't included at all.

Despite playing his guitar prior to breaking into "One Song Glory", and holding it during the song, Roger is never actually playing the guitar while singing the song.

This is listed at the top of her HIV detection report in one of the flashbacks during "One Song Glory", but never revealed in the Broadway show. There is no solid evidence that original stage writer Jonathan Larson intended her name to be Ericcson. It is presumed that this is decision made by either Director Chris Columbus or Screenwriter Stephen Chobosky.

When the group introduces themselves, it is revealed that the person next to Paul is Steve, and then Gordon is next to him. Gordon is the long time member of the AIDS support group. Gordon's condition is quickly declining, but he's still living positive.

Near the end of the song, Mimi, Mark, Collins and Angel are all calling up from the street to Roger, who is on his balcony. According to the group, (although this it is mostly Mimi who says this), Roger isn't living his last days the way he should. He wastes away up in his apartment, when he should really be down on the street having fun with his friends.

Joanne's parents say their names while introducing them at the engagement party. This is also something that is assumed to be a creative addition to the characters by the filmmakers.

This is underneath the main title when he first starts up the projector at the end of the film, while they are all singing "Finale B". Mark's film ends up being a nice tribute to all of their friends who they have lost to HIV and AIDS, especially their close friend Angel.
