You only receive a telephone call if you watch the tape in Izu.

Answer: False

As in the hollywood remake, the body is found in a closet. This is stranger in the Japanese version, as she was killed downstairs.

After Reiko watches the tape, she has her photo taken and it comes out with the same distortions.

This is possibly the creepiest part of the movie, Reiko and Ryuji view a flash back of a demonstration of Shizuko's powers. A man drops dead after claiming it is a fraud. Shizuko shouts at someone out of sight and a little girl in a white dress, with hair covering her face, runs out to Reiko and grabs her arm.

Amazingly, instead of being absolutely terrified, she just turns around, calling Ryuji's name. She is really weird.
