This part made me jump, I'll come right out and admit it. The reason Samara said this was because Rachel and Aiden had moved away from their hometown to a new rural town. The suspicious death of the boy lured Rachel into investigating (darn her journalistic ways) and Samara "found" them so she could continue to bother them.

Answer: Samara became furious and continued to harm Rachel and Aidan.

While the tape was being burned, it made weird screeching sounds which one could connect with Samara's rage. Also, Rachel told Aidan directly, how Samara became angry with Rachel's ambitions, so she had a desire to harm him now. Little did she know of Samara's clever little plan.

Answer: Aidan had a nightmare.

Before any of the other things happened, Aidan had a nightmare that Samara came out of their T.V. and grabbed him. He awakened screaming Rachel's name, which was where she noticed his unusually low temperature. Since Aidan was partially possessed at this point, he lied to Rachel and told her that he forgot what his nightmare was about.

Answer: Deer

Samara had a way of making the horses go crazy when she was alive, and it was logical that she possessed the deer in this sequel. The first encounter between the deer and Aidan was weird, because it just stared at him. It seemed creepy but it was forgotten (at least by me) until they were attacked.

The deer didn't even return until Rachel began asking Aidan about his nightmare again. This was when Rachel had to slam on the brakes to avoid crashing. While stopped, Aidan regained control of himself and told her not to stop and to keep going. For some inexplicable reason, she stayed squatting in the exact same spot, when a number of deer began thrashing the car.

The two of them barely made it out alive.

Answer: Samara appeared in every shot, and progressively approached him.

Aidan wandered into the bathroom, inspecting it somewhat closely. He turned one of the faucets, but instead of getting water, a fly emerged from it (just like in the tape!). Then he fixated himself on the mirror on the adjacent wall, and began taking a series of photos. Samara wasn't shown in the movie there until after Rachel had looked through his camera.

Answer: He was possessed by Samara, and she forced him to resist because she was afraid of water.

This was pretty evident; the boy had hypothermia and refused a hot bath. It was clearly not up to him at first whether he was going in or not. Rachel forced him in there, anyway. Also, it showed that whenever Aidan's temperature dropped so significantly, he was possessed by Samara. The only time he way actually himself was when he was asleep; his temperature was normal.

Answer: She became possessed by Samara when she wouldn't let Aidan leave the hospital.

Aidan was actually possessed when this happened. His temperature dropped back below 90 degrees, and in walked Dr. Temple. She had recently thrown Rachel out of the hospital for suspected abuse. Aidan demanded that he go home to his "mommy", but Dr. Temple refused because of his critical state. When asked again, Dr. Temple refused and then Aidan fell into a mesmerized-looking state. Samara had actually possessed the doctor and forced her to kill herself.

One theory for this event was that Samara showed Dr. Temple those "images" that Richard Morgan referred to in the first movie, which freaked the doctor out so much that she killed herself, then and there. I didn't offer this as an option if anyone suspected it, because the doctor being possessed was just as plausible.

Answer: She believed she could find a clue leading to Samara's biological parents.

After having begged the adoption agency, she was refused the information of Samara's biological parents.They did however confirm that Samara was adopted, which was a start (although that really had been confirmed in the first movie). So Rachel returned and went to the basement of the house, where the family's belongings were stowed.

She found the suitcase that Aidan had showed her through an image. In the suitcase she found a book that was intended for Samara, which led Rachel to the psychiatric hospital.

Answer: Her baby told her to.

Evelyn told this to Rachel when Rachel came in to visit her. Rachel asked why she wanted to kill Samara (I think she asked this because she thought it may have been the reason for Samara's rage) and she responded verbatim "Because my baby told me to." This was exactly what Aidan did. Rachel dreamt he told her to drown him in order to send the evil away. This would kill Aidan, but it would also dispell Samara's possession over him. Personally, I don't know what I'd do. Kill my son, or live with a ghost who had taken over my son. What a tough decision.

One thing in this general part of the movie which completely upset me was when the guard in the psychiatric ward was walking Rachel to Evelyn's room. He commented that all of the mothers who came in to visit Evelyn said that the song Evelyn hummed seemed familiar to them. It was as if they have all been through this and Rachel wasn't the first one. What a royal way to ruin the plot... what ever happened to those mothers? How did they manage to find Samara's biological mother?

Answer: He broke his promise and lied to Aidan.

When Rachel told Max in the hospital that Samara was present in every picture taken of Aidan, it piqued his interest and so he had to go and find out for himself. When Max was about to take the picture, Aidan yelled at him and made him promise not to take it.

In exchange for the reason Aidan didn't want the picture taken, Max promised and put the camera down. He set the camera to take the picture automatically a few seconds later - that sly fox. Samara knew better of course, and all we knew was that when Rachel arrived and saw him sitting in his truck, he was dead as a doorknob.
