Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. At the beginning of the film, Bond enters a room only to find an agent critically injured and his selected target missing. Bond tries his best to save this downed agent, but M, played by Judi Dench, tells Bond to leave him. What is the name of this agent?

Answer: Ronson

As Bond hurriedly leaves the motel there is radio chatter between M and Bond. Bill Tanner reports that they will be sending a medical unit, but Bond says that Ronson won't make it. Bond later asks of M, "Ronson didn't make it, did he?" Sadly it is reported that he did not survive.
2. Bond and Bond's mission partner named Eve chase after a man named Patrice, the man who stole the hard-drive that Bond is after. Bond and Patrice end up ditching their cars for a pair of motorcycles. At some point Eve loses track of where they are and asks Tanner. Where does Tanner report they are?

Answer: On the rooftops of the Grand Bazaar

Bond chases Patrice through the streets, originally, but a car blocks Patrice's path. This causes Patrice to make a detour and drive up an adjacent set of stairs, leading to the roof of the Grand Bazaar. They ride along the rooftops until they come across a landing with a window. Patrice crashes through this window, actually ending up on the ground level market, and Bond follows him from there into the street. Eventually Bond and Patrice end up on the roof of a train, where they fight in hand-to-hand combat.
3. The chase ends up on the roof of a train where Bond is fighting Patrice in hand-to-hand combat. Eve, Bond's mission partner, is on a cliff overlooking the pair of them with a scoped rifle. Eve doesn't have a clean shot, but because the train is coming upon a tunnel and there isn't any way for her to follow, she is told to take the shot and does. She accidentally shoots Bond, and he falls. What does he land in/on?

Answer: A body of water

He falls into a body of water. From there the introductory theme song, performed by Adele, begins. As the theme song begins a hand pulls Bond down to the bottom; this is probably just eye-candy, though. The movie never really explains it, but the most probable reason his body isn't discovered is he drifts through the water.
4. Believing Bond to be dead, M begins to write his obituary. On the obituary, one could clearly see what rank she lists for Bond. What is this rank?

Answer: Commander

As it is mentioned throughout the Bond films and franchise, Bond holds the rank of commander, specifically being a Royal Navy commander. The computer on which M writes his obituary states Commander James Bond, CMG, RN. The CMG part signifies that he is of the Order of St Michael and Saint George; this is awarded for acts of bravery and to people who offer invaluable services to the Commonwealth or foreign nations. The RN simply signifies that Bond serves the Royal Navy.
5. At one point in the film the villain attacks the MI6 headquarters with a controlled explosion from a gas leak. M and Tanner are rushing towards MI6 before this happens, but are stopped in their tracks. What is the cause of them stopping?

Answer: Police officers block the road.

Police officers block the road. M angrily gets out of the car to confront the officers and the explosion happens. It is never really explained why the police officers blocked the road, but luckily M didn't get too close to the building.
6. Sitting in the bar "enjoying death", Bond sees the explosion coverage on the TV. Which famous real-life news person is featured at this time?

Answer: Wolf Blitzer

Wolf Blitzer is featured discussing and reporting on the explosion that occurred at MI6. This wasn't the first major motion picture he was featured in, Blitzer also making an appearance in the film "The Campaign", but it was important to him nonetheless. He is quoted to have said, "This acting thing, I might have something."

It also stirred up a lot of publicity for this news-anchor-gone-actor, exploding on Twitter and other social media devices. Piers Morgan, a fellow news-anchor and counterpart to Wolf Blitzer who was featured in the film "Flight", called these film appearances a "CNN Thespian War" between the two of them on Twitter.
7. After discovering the news of the explosion, Bond decides to return to duty. Where does M find him?

Answer: In her home

M comes home one night to find Bond in the shadows of her home. When she sees Bond, however, she doesn't seem at all surprised or startled, not even relieved. She simply asks, "Where the hell have you been?" This is when Bond replies with his popular quote, "Enjoying death."

M probably wasn't surprised as to Bond being in her home as he has done this before, showing up in the shadows of her home during the Bond film "Casino Royale".
8. Bond would later find out the identity of the villain behind the explosion. What is the name of this blond haired, seemingly Spanish villain?

Answer: Tiago Rodriguez

His real name is Tiago Rodriguez, but he goes by the name of Raoul Silva. He is mentioned throughout the film as Silva, but his real name is told to Bond by M after M reconnects with Tiago in the new MI6 headquarters. You never actually hear Silva say this name, nor do you ever hear him referred to as Tiago except for this one scene.

He is played by actor Javier Bardem. Javier Bardem, in real life, was born of Spanish decent, his birth haven taken place in the country of Spain. With the Spanish name the character was given, and the fact that Javier Bardem is from Spain, one may conclude that the character is also Spanish. The film never mentions what country he is from, though.
9. After Bond meets Silva, Silva is soon captured. Being held captive by M in the new MI6 headquarters, Silva reveals a deformity. What has caused this deformity?

Answer: Cyanide

After biting down on a cyanide capsule, hidden in his molar, he lost many of teeth and his cheek bone and jaw-line became caved in. He is quoted to have said that it burned his insides. Many people theorize that because of cyanide's lethality, and the fact that it did not kill him when he bit down on it, the capsule was probably expired or tainted.

It is never fully explained in the film, though.
10. After Silva escapes, he pursues his ultimate goal to kill M. Breaking into a hearing that M is subject in, Silva fires a shot at her. Who takes the bullet?

Answer: Gareth Mallory

Gareth Mallory, played by Ralph Fiennes, leaps off the table he was sitting at and pulls M away, accidentally taking the bullet in the shoulder or arm area. Mallory then proceeds, despite his gun-shot wound, to pick up a pistol and return fire. Mallory is next seen in a sling.
11. What decorative item does M use for her desk that Bond absolutely hates?

Answer: A painted bull-dog

It's the bull-dog that he hates, and he hates it very verbally. In fact, in the scene where Bond is introduced to the new MI6 headquarters and M's new office, he says, "The whole office goes up in smoke and that bloody thing survives."
12. Towards the end of the movie, Bond takes M to see Skyfall. What is Skyfall?

Answer: The home Bond grew up in

Before Bond and M actually arrive at Skyfall, Bond briefly gets out of the car to reminisce of his native lands of Scotland. M asks him how old he was when his parents died and, although Bond does not reveal the age he was to the audience, Ian Fleming wrote that he was 11 and his parents died in a mountaineering accident.

It is later revealed that Bond briefly stayed in the home after his parents' deaths, Kincade saying he hid in the Skyfall priest hole for solace.
13. Once they arrive at Skyfall, Bond and M receive help from an unlikely ally named Kincade. Who is this person to Bond?

Answer: The gamekeeper to Skyfall

Kincade was the gamekeeper for Skyfall. He took care of the home after the Bonds had left. It also suggests in the film that Kincade taught Bond the basics of firing a weapon. This piece of information is evident when Bond goes outside to test out the shot-gun that they use. Kincade says, "Remember what I taught you..." This, of course, all occurs because Kincade is insistent on helping Bond. Bond tries to disinvolve Kincade but Kincade refuses to accept this and says, "Try to stop me..."

A little later on, Kincade is also very important in M's escape from the house, leading her through the priest hole.
14. What happens to Skyfall towards the end of the film?

Answer: It is blown up by Bond.

After witnessing the destruction of Bond's beloved Aston Martin at the hands of Silva, he angrily rigs some propane tanks to explode and exits through the priest hole. Just as he exits through the tunnel he is quoted saying, "I've always hated this place."

The house then explodes, Silva's chopper crashes, and Silva, discombobulated, begins pursuit of M and Kincade.
15. A character that many audiences grow to love in this film dies at the end. What is the name of this character and what is the name of the actor/actress that plays him/her?

Answer: Judi Dench as M

Judi Dench's character dies and is set up to be replaced by Ralph Fiennes' character in future films. It doesn't seem that Dench has any hard feelings towards the matter, however, as she cordially tells ITN in an interview that she had a blast filming the end of the Bond film.
