Answer: Jaws of Satan

"Jaws of Satan" (aka "King Cobra") (1981) was originally produced in 1979 when Christina Applegate was seven years of age. The movie is about a priest (Fritz Weaver), whose witch-killing ancestors were cursed by the Druids, being hunted by a Satan possessed king cobra.

The snakes used in the film were real and credit to Jon Korkes, who plays herpetologist Dr. Paul Hendricks, who handles the snakes and whose timidness was evident in one particular scene where he removes a rattlesnake from a bed. Producer Bill Wilson said that the film was inspired by a true story of a train derailment in 1955 near Springfield, Missouri. Though heavily criticized, this movie is enjoyable and certain aspects are unintentionally hilarious, especially the cobra shadow, which appears to be a hand in a sock.

Answer: Venom

"Venom" (1981) is about Philip Hopkins (Lance Holcomb) who has just purchased a snake from an exotic pet store but has inadvertently been given a black mamba. When the Hopkins' housemaid, Louise Andrews (Susan George), and chauffeur, Dave Averconnelly (Oliver Reed), decide to kidnap Philip for ransom they enlist the help of Jacques Müller (Klaus Kinski).

When the mix-up of snakes is noticed, a police officer is sent to pick up the black mamba, but Dave panics and shoots the police officer. The house is ultimately surrounded by the police, trapping the kidnappers and Philip, and you guessed it, the mamba is loose in the ventilation system. Klaus Kinski in his autobiography 'All I Need Is Love: A Memoir' mentioned that he took his role in this movie over an offer to appear in Steven Spielberg's "Raiders of the Lost Ark" (1981) as he thought the script for "Raiders of the Lost Ark" was ridiculous.

Answer: Sssssss

"Sssssss" (1973) is about a scientist Dr Carl Stoner (Strother Martin), who is working on a serum which transforms humans into snakes. Under the pretense of injections to safeguard against snake bite, Dr Stoner begins a series of injections on his lab assistant, David Blake (Dirk Benedict). With time David realises he is mutating into a king cobra.

Heather Menzies, who played Louisa in "The Sound of Music", also appeared in this film as Dr Stoner's daughter and Blake's girlfriend, Kristina Stoner.

The five king cobras used in this film were not de-fanged; instead they were milked prior to filming, and the film opens with the statement, "We wish to thank the cast and crew for their courageous efforts while being exposed to extremely hazardous conditions."

Answer: Spasms

"Spasms" (1983) is a Canadian horror film about Jason Kincaid (Oliver Reed), who captures a massive snake after it has killed his brother. Appearing to have developed a mental connection with the snake, Jason seeks out help in the form of psychiatrist Dr Tom Brazilian (Peter Fonda). With the assistance of Satanists, the snake is set free and it is no surprise that the snake starts to kill people.

Answer: Snakes on a Train

"Snakes on a Train" (2006) was a direct-to-video release by Asylum films. A woman named Alma (Julia Ruiz) is cursed because she didn't want to marry a man chosen by her family. The curse causes snakes to hatch inside her stomach and she vomits them up (credit to Julia Ruiz for being able to pull off that scene). Alma collects the snakes and along with her boyfriend Brujo (Alby Castro) she attempts to make her way to Los Angeles by train so Brujo's uncle, a powerful shaman, can make her well again. No surprise that the snakes get loose on the train. Most of the snakes used were harmless garter snakes, along with some constrictors, but still, having to put them in your mouth.

Answer: The Speckled Band

"The Speckled Band" (1931) was an adaptation of the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle story "The Adventure of the Speckled Band". Sherlock Holmes (Raymond Massey) and Dr John Watson (Athole Stewart) investigate the death of Violet Stonor (Joyce Moore), whose dying words are "the band, speckled." Uncovering a series of clues, Holmes discovers that the murder weapon is in fact a swamp adder, and the murderer, Dr Rylott (Lyn Harding), had sent the snake into Violet's room to murder her for her inheritance.

"Jennifer" (1978) is about Jennifer Baylor (Lisa Pelikan), who lives with her mentally disabled, widowed father, Luke Baylor (Jeff Corey), who runs a pet store. When Jennifer receives a scholarship to an elite private school, she encounters the typical horror movie clique of girls who despise her for being different and eventually they push her over the edge. Using her ability to control snakes, Jennifer extracts her revenge. "Jennifer" borrowed many elements from the movie "Carrie" and received much criticism for doing so.

Answer: Dean Cain

"Boa" ("New Alcatraz") (2001) starred Dean Cain, who formerly played Superman in the television series "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman". "Boa" is set in the future within a high security prison located in Antarctica. When the ice is being drilled it awakens a giant prehistoric snake which had been in hibernation for 20 million years.

After that period of time the snake is hungry and it decides to hunt the criminals and the security guards of the facility.

Answer: King Cobra

"King Cobra" (1999) was a direct-to-video production by the Hillenbrand brothers. The plot involves a chemical explosion at a genetics laboratory, resulting in the escape of a King Cobra/Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake hybrid, which has been injected with an experimental aggressiveness drug.

The snake finds its way to a small brewery town with an upcoming festival and starts to kill the residents. In typical horror film fashion, the mayor refuses to cancel the festival which results in more deaths, until Nick Hashimoto (Pat Morita), a herpetologist, is called in to hunt the snake.

Answer: Fair Game

"Fair Game" (also known as "Mamba") starred the wife of musician Sting, Trudie Styler, as Eva. Eva decides to dump her boyfriend Gene (Gregg Henry), a computer game designer, but what Eva didn't know is that Gene is seriously deranged. Deciding to extract revenge, Gene obtains a black mamba from the standard horror movie creepy guy living in the desert, Frank (Bill Moseley), who has injected the mamba with sex hormones to increase aggressiveness. Of course, Eva now lives in a loft with no windows and only one door, so it is easy to entrap her and release the snake and wait for it to bite her.

But that is not enough for Gene: He uses tracking devices, one on the snake and one on Eva, to follow the progress of the hunt on his computer. The only problem for Gene is that because the mamba has been injected with sex hormones it has more venom, so if it hasn't bitten someone in 60 minutes it will die.
