Answer: Above the Law

Written and produced by Steven Seagal and Andrew Davis, the film was released on April 8, 1988, and distributed by Warner Bros. It was this film that marked Seagal as a top-ranked, action, Hollywood actor. After serving a tour in Vietnam and honing his martial arts skills in Japan, Toscani returned to Chicago as a cop. Soon after his return, he raided a drug ring and later discovered that all the suspects were allowed to walk. Furious at his fellow officers, he began taking the law into his own hands and was on to something big.

He was later made to turn in his badge. Although he was off the force, he refused to step away from the action. He and his partner, Jax, played by Pam Grier, closed in on the psychotic crime lord, an ex-CIA operative named Kurt Zagon (Henry Silva).

At the hands of Toscani, Zagon lost his criminal life with a broken neck, ending his drug trafficking and plotted assassinations.

Written and directed by Craig Brewer in March, 2007, this film was set in the '50s era in a small southern town in Tennessee. Lazarus (Jackson) found Rae (Ricci) on a dirt road, beaten and barely clothed. Selfishly, the retired African-American blues singer took the wild woman to his home in order to help heal her of her physical, emotional, and mental wounds, even if it meant having to chain her to a radiator for her own good. Singer/actor Justin Timberlake starred as her boyfriend, Ronnie.

Answer: Coal Miner's Daughter

In 1969, Lynn penned her song based on her family's poverty-stricken life in Butcher Hollow, Kentucky. Directed by Michael Apted and released by Universal Pictures on March 7, 1980, the movie of the same name stormed the box office. Tommy Lee Jones starred as her husband, Doolittle "Mooney" Lynn, and Beverly D'Angelo gave an excellent depiction of singer Patsy Cline, who was Lynn's best friend.

Answer: Marley and Me

David Frankel directed the 2008 film based on the adaptation of John Grogan's bestselling book, "Marley & Me: Life and Love with the World's Worst Dog", published in 2005. Wanting to start a family of their own, the newlywed couple, journalists John (Wilson) and Jenny Grogan (Aniston), made the decision to give it a trial run and adopted a twelve pound yellow lab and named it Marley.

However, Marley was a little more than what the Grogan's expected and became a hundred pounds of mischievous energy and somewhat destructive. Marley lived with the family for fourteen years before she suffered from a second attack of a severe stomach condition.

The Grogans had their loving pet, sadly, but humanely, put to sleep.

Answer: Meet the Parents

Greg Focker (Stiller) was a big-hearted nurse who took a trip with his girlfriend, Pam (Teri Polo), to her parents' house. While there, he had every intention of asking for her hand in marriage before her family members. The more he tried to impress Pam and her parents, the more things seemed to go wrong for him. Pam's father, Jack Byrnes (De Niro), a retired CIA operative, was not enthralled at all by his would-be son-in-law. One well-known and hilarious part of the movie was when Focker opened a bottle of cheap champagne at the dinner table.

When he popped the cork, it flew out and hit the urn that contained the ashes of Byrne's mother. When it plummeted to the floor, Mr. Jinx, the adored cat, quickly made his way over to the ashes and used it as a litter box. On October 7, 2000, Universal Studios and DreamWorks released this comedy hit film in theaters.

Answer: The Dark Knight

Directed by Christopher Nolan, "The Dark Knight" was released in America, Australia, and the U.K. in July, 2008. It was the follow-up to "Batman Begins" (2005). Christian Bale acted as the primary role of the super hero, Batman, while Ledger played the part of the malicious and vindictive Joker.

The movie focused on the criminal chaos he brought to Gotham City as his powers began to escalate. Batman and other law officials operated together in order to bring the Joker down. Sadly, Heath Ledger, an up and coming Hollywood star, died on January 22, 2008. Michael Caine, Aaron Eckhart, Morgan Freeman, and Gary Oldman were some legendary actors who played opposite Bale and Ledger.

Heath was awarded the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role in this film.

Answer: The Polar Express

"The Polar Express" was released in 2004, casting Hanks as a voice-over and computerized image. The film was based on Chris Van Allsburg's illustrated children's book which was written and published in 1985. Set in the winter season, a young boy wanted to believe in the true meaning of Christmas and had been invited to journey to the North Pole with other children on a magic train.

Hesitantly, he accepted the offer and returned home safely with "The First Gift of Christmas", a silver bell that only believers could hear, given to him by Santa Claus.

After his arrival, he realized the bell was missing and had fallen through a hole in his robe pocket. To his gleeful surprise on Christmas morning, a package was wrapped under the Christmas tree with the bell returned to him. Hanks performed the roles of the train's conductor, the hobo, the Scrooge puppet, the hero boy's father, the hero boy, and Santa Claus.

Answer: The Perfect Storm

Distributed by Warner Brothers, Wolfgang Petersen directed the film in June, 2000 to memorialize six men whose lives were mysteriously taken by a brutal storm in the North Atlantic Sea in 1991. Clooney, who played the captain of the sword fishing vessel, had a poor catch on his first run in September, 1991. He made the decision to take the "Andrea Gail" back out to sea in October, hoping for a better catch. Many of the crew members were reluctant to go back at that time of the season. Mark Wahlberg depicted the youngest of the crew, Robert "Bobby" Shatford, who had fallen in love with Chris Cotter, played by Diane Lane. Returning to port on October 28, the "Andrea Gail" met the most vicious storm recorded in history and never returned.

Answer: The Bucket List

"The Bucket List" was named by many critics as one of the Top Ten Films of the Year and was directed by Rob Reiner. Warner Bros. Pictures released the humorous film in the U.S. on January 11, 2008, February 8, 2008, in the U.K., and February 21, 2008, in Australia. Oscar winners Nicholson and Freeman starred as two terminally ill strangers with lung cancer. Freeman portrayed a middle-class mechanic named Carter Chambers, while Nicholson depicted Edward Cole, a medical mogul.

While going through treatments, the unlikely couple became good friends and began a list of things they wanted to do before they "kicked the bucket" or died.

They soon checked out of the hospital and hit the road for the adventure of a lifetime.

Answer: Walk the Line

Released by 20th Century Fox on November 18, 2005, "Walk the Line" was a compilation of material from the legendary Johnny Cash's autobiographies, "Man in Black: His Own Story in His Own Words" (1977) and "Cash: The Autobiography" (1997). The award-winning, biopic/drama film was a tribute to the heartbreaking life of Johnny Cash as a dirt-poor child in southern Arkansas leading to the pitfalls in his early career, and the waiting and perseverance for his one true love, June Carter, a singer and comedian.

The film was nominated for five Oscars, with Witherspoon winning Best Actress. Unfortunately, neither Johnny nor June ever got to see the film based on their lives. June died on May 15, 2003, and Johnny died September 12, 2003. John Carter Cash, their only son, was an executive producer for the movie.
