A young Erik was separated from his mother. Angered, he was surprised to find out that he could bend the big iron gate with ease without even touching it. However, his attempt to open the gate failed when a group of soldiers stopped him. Dr. Schmidt saw this incident from his office's window and summoned Erik to his office. There, Erik was asked to demonstrate his ability by moving a small metal coin put on the table.

Erik tried very hard but he could not move the coin. Dr. Schmidt lost his patience and fired a shot at Erik's mother, killing her. Dr. Schmidt's ruthlessness angered Erik. Erik screamed and managed to bend a bell and a bookshelf before killing two guards with his superpower ability. Dr. Schmidt was delighted to see this and told Erik that he had helped him unlock his potential.

Answer: Genetic mutation

Raven always felt embarrassed about her look, but Charles gave her a lot of encouragement. One night, Raven asked Charles to tell her some stories, but Charles said he needed to prepare for his thesis examination. Raven then said he could read her his thesis, since the thesis always put her off to sleep. Charles then read a short paragraph from his thesis to Raven, which discussed the possible ideas of human genetic mutation.

Since he was a small kid, Charles knew that he was different from the other normal people. One night, he met Raven who was stealing food from his mansion's kitchen. He told Raven that she could live in the mansion together with him. Charles could read other people's mind, but he promised Raven that he would never read her mind.

Answer: Russia

CIA agent Moira MacTaggert was on duty with his colleague outside the Hellfire Club. She then spotted Colonel Hendry outside the building. Her curiosity prompted her to investigate further by following him into the club.

Inside the building, she saw Shaw was having a meeting with Hendry. Shaw wanted Hendry to install nuclear missiles in Turkey but Hendry disagreed because the act would jeopardize US's relationship with Russia. Shaw then threatened him by showing him what his fellow mutants were capable of. Hendry reluctantly agreed and Azazel teleported him to the War Room.

Shaw also planned to have the Russians install nuclear missiles in Cuba. This would certainly be a catalyst for World War III. Shaw hoped that the use of nuclear weapons would create more mutants with extraordinary superpowers.

Answer: Cerebro

The covert operation was done in the CIA's secret Division X facility, under the supervision of an unnamed CIA agent. Hank was extremely smart and he graduated from Harvard University at the age of 15. According to Hank, Cerebro meant brain in Spanish. Using the special device, Charles and Erik managed to recruit a few more mutants.

They included stripper Angel, taxi driver Armando, Army prisoner Alex and teenager Sean.

Answer: Darwin (Armando)

Everyone was surprised that Angel decided to join forces with Shaw. As a last resort, Darwin and Havok devised a plan. Darwin told Shaw that he would also join his side. When Shaw was not noticing, Darwin grabbed Angel and protected her while Havok fired an energy blast.

Unfortunately, the plan failed as Shaw had the ability to absorb the energy blast. He then unleashed the energy in the form of a fireball down Darwin's throat, killing him.

Answer: Helmet

Shaw revealed to Emma that the Russians gave him a special helmet. To prove that the helmet worked, Shaw put on the helmet and asked Emma what he was thinking. Emma admitted that she could not read Shaw's mind. Whenever Shaw was somewhere near Charles, he would put on the helmet to prevent Charles from reading his mind.

Answer: He forced a metal coin through Shaw's head.

When Erik met Shaw in the submarine's reactor room, Shaw recognized Erik as the little boy that he met back in 1944 in Poland. Shaw tried to convince Erik that he was a good person. However, this only worsened the situation as it reminded Erik of how Shaw murdered his mother.

Just as Erik managed to take off Shaw's helmet, Charles used his superpower ability to freeze Shaw. However, the unexpected happened as Erik took the helmet and wore it. By doing so, Charles could no longer read Erik's mind. Erik took the opportunity to kill Shaw by forcing a metal coin through Shaw's head. The coin was of great significance as it was also the coin that Erik failed to move back in 1944 in Shaw's office that led to the death of his mother.

Answer: Legs

The US and Russian army agreed that they fired their missiles towards the beach to kill all the mutants. Erik used his superpower ability to stop the missiles in mid air and reverse their direction. Charles asked Erik to stop what he was doing as there were hundreds of innocent soldiers on the freighters who were just taking orders from their superiors.

Erik did not listen to Charles' advice. Instead, he directed the missiles towards the freighters. As a last resort to stop Erik, Charles wrestled Erik to the ground. A fight broke out between Charles and Erik. Moira then fired shots at Erik but one of the bullets deflected and hit Charles. Charles collapsed. Erik stopped what he was doing and felt sorry for Charles. All the remaining missiles exploded in the sky and the freighters were all safe.

As Charles struggled to get up, he uttered, "I can't feel my leg... I can't feel my legs... I can't feel my legs..."

The scene then cut to Charles sitting on a wheelchair. Moira asked him how many students he would recruit for his academy. Charles replied, "As many as I can get."

Answer: No

After hearing Moira's reply, Charles said, "I know you won't. I know." They then kissed.

The next scene featured Moira being questioned by the CIA. The CIA Director, McCone asked her, "All that time wiped clean from your mind. Just gone. He can do that? You don't remember anything?" Moira replied, "Sometimes I get fragments. Like...trees, sun light, a kiss." McCone was clearly annoyed by her answer, and said, "Oh, Jesus! Gentlemen, this is why the CIA is no place for a woman."

Answer: "I prefer, Magneto."

Magneto was the nickname given by the group of young mutants during their discussion at the CIA secret Division X building. Raven said now that they worked for the CIA, they should use code names. So, Raven used Mystique; Alex used Havok; Armando used Darwin; and Sean used Banshee.

When Charles and Erik met the group later, Raven said they had also come up with the code names for them - Professor X and Magneto. Charles was a professor and his last name was Xavier, hence the code name Professor X. On the other hand, Erik had the superpower ability to manipulate metal objects, hence the code name Magneto.
