Col. Sharp was the pilot of the space shuttle 'Freedom', which successfully landed on the asteroid. Col. Sharp had instructions to detonate a nuclear warhead should the team not accomplish their mission, and was preparing to do so when Harry convinced him to let them continue drilling. William Fichtner appeared in "Contact", "The Perfect Storm", "Black Hawk Down" and "Passion of Mind".

He got his start on "As the World Turns", and has also appeared on TV in "Prison Break" and "Invasion".
