"(There's) Always Something There to Remind Me" was first recorded by Dionne Warwick in 1963 as a demo, but released by Lou Johnson as a single in 1964 which charted at forty-ninth position on the US Billboard chart. Next to record it was Sandie Shaw in that same year and her version reached number one on the UK Singles chart, but only managed a fifty-second position on the US Billboard chart.

In the 1980s a pop version was recorded by British band Naked Eyes which went to eighth position on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

This song has also been covered by the likes of Peggy Lee, The Carpenters and The Four Seasons.

Following the life of Billy the Kid, "Young Guns II" is the sequel to the original 1988 film "Young Guns". "Blaze of Glory" was first used for the film and was then used as the title track of the album of the same name. He revealed in a 2013 interview with "American Songwriter" that the film "Swamp Fever" gave him some much needed background on the South as he had never actually lived there.
