"West End Girls" was recorded by the Pet Shop Boys in 1984 and released twice as a single, in 1984 and 1987. The song reached top position on a number of world charts, including the US Billboard and UK charts. The Doors recorded the song "The End" for their eponymous debut album in 1967. The album achieved a second place on the US Billboard 200 chart and was certified platinum in the US and UK. Rolling Stone magazine's "500 Greatest Albums of All Time" list ranked the album at position forty-two. "The End" has been used a number of times in films and television shows, most notably on the soundtrack of the 1979 film "Apocalypse Now" as well as in a number of episodes of "The Simpsons".

"It's the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)" was recorded in 1987 for R.E.M.'s album "Document". The song was released as a single in 1987 and reached position sixty-nine on the US Billboard chart and was re-released in 1991 where it reached position thirty-nine on the UK chart. The best position achieved by the song, was a sixteenth position on the US Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.

"V Deep" (Five Deep), was released in 1982 by The Boomtown Rats and was the band's fifth studio album. Not the most successful Rats album, it only managed a paltry 188th position on the US charts. They released six albums between 1977 and 1984 and achieved two number one singles, "I Don't Like Mondays"(1979) and "Rat Trap"(1978).

The Travelling Wilburys recorded "End of the Line" for their first album "Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1" in 1989. The song reached position sixty-three on the US Billboard chart. Notably, Bob Dylan was not part of the song, all the other Wilburys provided vocals. The music video was filmed after Roy Orbison's death in 1988 and a guitar on a rocking chair next to a photo of Orbison were used when his vocals were heard.

From the 1972 album "Obscured by Clouds", "Childhood's End" was composed by David Gilmour and was inspired by the 1953 Arthur C. Clarke novel of the same name. The album was their seventh and was certified gold in the US and silver in the UK. Its best showing was in France where it reached top position on the chart.

The picture is of a painting by Dominicus van Weijen called "Der Hexenmeister" which translates loosely to "The Witch Master".

Upon the death of founder and vocalist Lemmy Kilmister in 2015, Motörhead disbanded and "Bad Magic" would be their final album. The album was fairly popular and managed a top position on the UK Independent Albums, UK Rock & Metal Albums, German, Finnish and Austrian album charts. It reached a second place on the US Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums and even managed a sixty-seventh place on the Japanese album charts.

"Dance Me to the End of Love" was recorded for Cohen's 1984 album "Various Positions". Despite sounding like a love song, the song is actually inspired by the Holocaust. In an interview Cohen speaks of hearing about certain death camps that had a string quartet beside the crematorium forced to play classical music while their fellow prisoners were put to death.

The song charted in France, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland, achieving a fourteenth position on the French chart.
