Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In March, 1976, Led Zeppelin released their seventh album. What is it called?

Answer: Presence

The band call this the "Guitar Album" because, more than any other Zeppelin album, it was dominated by Jimmy Page's guitar playing. This album was recorded in just 18 days and contains such Zeppelin classics as "Achilles' Last Stand" and "Nobody's Fault But Mine".
2. What Led Zeppelin song do these lyrics come from: "The devil he told me to roll. The devil he told me to roll. How to roll but not collide..."?

Answer: Nobody's Fault But Mine

This song is yet another example of Zeppelin doing a fantastic job of turning old blues into hard blues-rock.
3. At what arena was most of the footage for Led Zeppelin's live movie/album, "The Song Remains the Same" shot?

Answer: Madison Square Garden--New York City

Most of the footage from these 1973 shows was shot at Madison Square Garden. Some footage was also shot at shows in Baltimore and Pittsburgh. The band were not happy with the film or album and have stated that it would never have been released if Robert Plant was not still recovering from his car accident, making him unable to tour.
4. What was significant about the cover of the band's "In Through the Out Door" album?

Answer: All of these are true

This album was released in 1979 in a brown paper bag! The six different covers are scenes from the same bar. Though the bar is a re-creation, it depicts the "Absinthe Bar", a favorite hang-out of the band when they were in New Orleans. Jimmy Page met his wife in the bar.
5. The "In Through the Out Door" album contains the first two Zeppelin written songs in which Jimmy Page receives no writing credit.

Answer: True

The songs "South Bound Suarez" and "All My Love" are both credited to Robert Plant and John Paul Jones. Jimmy Page and John Bonham both thought that this album was too "soft" for a Zeppelin album and planned to release a "harder" one soon. Sadly, because of Bonham's death, this never happened.
6. What song was included on "The Song Remains the Same" soundtrack, but was not included in the film?

Answer: Celebration Day

I'm not sure why this song was left out. It contains some fantastic guitar work by Page. The songs "Black Dog" and "Since I've Been Loving You" were in the film but not on the soundtrack.
7. Where did drummer John Bonham die?

Answer: Jimmy Page's house

John Henry "Bonzo" Bonham died on September 25, 1980 in Jimmy Page's house, where the band had gathered to rehearse for their upcoming American tour which never happened. After his death the band released a typically ambiguous statement saying that they could not continue as they were.

This left fans wondering if they had broken up or if Bonham was going to be replaced. Later, Page was quoted as saying it would've been an insult to continue Led Zeppelin without Bonham. I agree.
8. In 1982 a collection of Zeppelin outtakes was released. What is the only song on this record that had been previously released?

Answer: I Can't Quit You Baby

This album is called "Coda". This version of "I Can't Quit You Baby" was recorded at the soundcheck for the Royal Albert Hall show on September 1, 1970.
9. What 1982 movie soundtrack contains music written by Jimmy Page?

Answer: Death Wish II

No, Jimmy Page did not write music for the "E.T." soundtrack.
10. Which of the following songs was NOT performed when Jimmy Page joined Robert Plant onstage at the 1990 Knebworth festival in England?

Answer: Stairway to Heaven

"Stairway to Heaven" was not played (Plant doesn't like the song). The other three choices are the three songs that were played. The song "Wearing and Tearing" had never before been performed live. Easily the best song on the "Coda" album, Page and Plant performed it brilliantly.
